Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: During the journey of Hajj, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed through the valley of Usfan, and he asked: "O Abu Bakr, which valley is this?" Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: "O Messenger of Allah, this is the valley of Usfan." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Sayyiduna Hud (peace be upon him) and Sayyiduna Salih (peace be upon him) passed through here riding red young camels whose halters were made of palm fibre. Their lower garments were cloaks ('aba'), and over them they wore woollen wraps. They were reciting the talbiyah and going to perform Hajj of the Ancient House."
Ahmad recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Zam'ah bin Salih, about whom there has been criticism, though he has also been declared trustworthy.
