وَعَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ : كُنَّا نَكُونُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَنَحْنُ مُحْرِمَاتٌ ، فَيَمُرُّ بِنَا الرَّاكِبُ فَتُسْدِلُ إِحْدَانَا الثَّوْبَ عَلَى وَجْهِهَا مِنْ فَوْقِ رَأْسِهَا . وَرُبَّمَا قَالَتْ : مِنْ فَوْقِ الْخِمَارِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي زِيَادٍ ; وَثَّقَهُ ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ وَغَيْرُهُ ، وَضَعَّفَهُ جَمَاعَةٌ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي زِيَادٍ ; وَثَّقَهُ ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ وَغَيْرُهُ ، وَضَعَّفَهُ جَمَاعَةٌ .
Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), the honoured wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), narrates: We were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while we were in the state of ihram. When a rider passed by us, we would let our cloth hang down from above the head over the face. Sometimes she narrated the words: "We would let it down over the face from above the head-covering (khimar)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Yazid bin Abi Ziyad, whom Abdullah bin al-Mubarak and others declared thiqah (trustworthy), while a group declared him da'if (weak).
