Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever leads a blind person for forty dhira' (cubits, that is, the length from the elbow to the fingertip) receives the reward of freeing a slave."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, Yusuf bin Atiyyah al-Saffar, and he is matruk (abandoned).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever leads a blind person for forty steps, Paradise becomes binding for him."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and Imam Abu Ya'la recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Ali bin Urwah, and he is kadhdhab (a liar).

Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Umar bin Yahya al-Amali; I have not found anyone who has given his biography. Its chain also contains a narrator, Ali bin Yazid, who has been criticised.
