Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed Sayyiduna Ibn Umm Maktum (may Allah be pleased with him) as his deputy in Madinah, and he would lead the people in prayer.
Abu Ya'la and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat recorded it, and he (al-Tabarani) narrated these words: "Sayyiduna Ibn Umm Maktum (may Allah be pleased with him) was appointed as deputy in Madinah twice, and he would lead the people in prayer." The narrators of Abu Ya'la are the narrators of the Sahih.

Al-Bazzar and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat recorded it; its chain contains Ufayr bin Ma'dan, who is da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Buhaynah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) travelled, he would appoint Sayyiduna Ibn Umm Maktum (may Allah be pleased with him) as his deputy in Madinah. He would call the adhan, call the iqamah and lead the people in prayer.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains al-Waqidi, who is da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umayr (may Allah be pleased with him), the imam of Banu Khatmah, was the imam of Banu Khatmah in the blessed time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He was blind, and despite being blind he took part in a military campaign with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
