Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Buhaynah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) travelled, he would appoint Sayyiduna Ibn Umm Maktum (may Allah be pleased with him) as his deputy in Madinah. He would call the adhan, call the iqamah and lead the people in prayer.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains al-Waqidi, who is da'if (weak).
