Majma al-Zawaid 2328 — A blind man leading the prayer

Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed Sayyiduna Ibn Umm Maktum (may Allah be pleased with him) as his deputy in Madinah, and he would lead the people in prayer.
Abu Ya'la and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat recorded it, and he (al-Tabarani) narrated these words: "Sayyiduna Ibn Umm Maktum (may Allah be pleased with him) was appointed as deputy in Madinah twice, and he would lead the people in prayer." The narrators of Abu Ya'la are the narrators of the Sahih.
