One who delays the prayer beyond its time

Asim bin Ubaydullah narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Soon after me there will be rulers who will sometimes offer the prayer on time and sometimes delay it beyond its proper time. Pray behind them. If they offer the prayer at its time and you offer it with them, you will have the reward and they will have the reward. And if they delay it and you offer it with them, you will have the reward and they will bear the sin. Whoever separates from the Jama'ah dies the death of the Jahiliyyah, and whoever breaks the covenant will come on the Day of Resurrection with no argument in his favour." The narrator says: I asked my teacher: "Who narrated this report to you?" He said: "Abdullah bin Amir bin Rabi'ah narrated it to me from his father, Sayyiduna Amir bin Rabi'ah (may Allah be pleased with him); Sayyiduna Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) told him this from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)."
Ahmad and al-Tabarani in al-Kabir recorded something similar; its chain contains a narrator, Asim bin Ubaydullah, and he is da'if (weak), although Malik narrated from him.

Abd al-Rahman bin Abdullah bin Mas'ud narrates about his father: Once al-Walid bin Uqbah delayed the prayer, so Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up, called the iqamah for the prayer, and led the people in prayer. Al-Walid sent a message to him: "Why did you do what you have done? Has an order come to you from the Commander of the Believers? If so, you have done well. Or have you introduced an innovation?" Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "No order has come to me from the Commander of the Believers, nor have I introduced an innovation. But Allah and His Messenger have not permitted us to keep waiting for you with our prayer while you are occupied with your affairs."
Ahmad and al-Tabarani in al-Kabir recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Shaddad bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Soon after me there will be rulers who will delay the prayer beyond its appointed times. So offer the prayer at its proper time, and make your prayer with them a voluntary prayer."
Ahmad, al-Bazzar and al-Tabarani in al-Awsat recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Rashid bin Dawud, whom al-Daraqutni (may Allah have mercy on him) declared da'if (weak), while Yahya bin Ma'in, Duhaym and Ibn Hibban declared him thiqah (trustworthy).

The son of the wife of Sayyiduna Ubadah bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: "Soon there will come rulers whom certain things will keep occupied, so that they will not offer the prayer at its appointed time." The narrator says: We said: "O Messenger of Allah! What is your view on this?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Offer the prayer at its proper time. If you find that prayer with those rulers, make the prayer you offer with them a voluntary prayer."
These are the words of the narration as al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Kabir. Ahmad also narrated it and gave a heading for him, saying: "The hadith of Abu Ubayy," and mentioned this hadith under that narrator. Abu Dawud and others narrated this same report from him, from Sayyiduna Ubadah bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyiduna Abu Ubayy (may Allah be pleased with him) has the honour of being a Companion. And Allah knows best. The narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about this statement of Allah Almighty: "Those who are heedless of their prayers." He said: "They are those who delay the prayer beyond its proper time."
Al-Bazzar and Abu Ya'la recorded it as marfu' (attributed to the Prophet), and also recorded it as mawquf (stopping at the Companion). Its chain contains a narrator, Ikrimah bin Ibrahim, whom Ibn Hibban and others declared da'if (weak). Al-Bazzar said: The huffaz (hadith masters) recorded it as mawquf; no one other than this narrator recorded it as marfu'.

Mus'ab bin Sa'd narrates: I asked my father: "O my father, what is your view about this statement of Allah Almighty? (The Exalted says:) 'Those who are heedless of their prayers.' Which of us is not overtaken by forgetfulness, and which of us does not get lost in his own thoughts?" He said: "That is not what is meant. What is meant is wasting the time: that a person stays occupied with other things until the (prescribed) time (of the prayer) is wasted." In another narration the words are: Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Does not every one of us do that?"
Abu Ya'la recorded it, and its chain is hasan (good).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: "Soon after me there will be rulers who will delay the prayer." I said: "O Messenger of Allah! What should a person who lives in their time do?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Offer the prayer at its proper time, and if you are present with them at their prayer, then offer the prayer (with them)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Awsat and al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Salim bin Abdullah al-Khayyat, whom Yahya bin Ma'in and al-Nasa'i (may Allah have mercy on him) declared da'if (weak), while Ahmad, Ibn Hibban and Abu Ahmad bin Adi declared him thiqah (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Soon after me there will be sinful rulers who will offer the prayer outside its proper time. When they do that, offer the prayer at its proper time, and make your prayer with them a voluntary prayer."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Awsat, and Abu Ya'la recorded it; its chain contains a narrator who could not be identified.
