Sayyiduna Abu Layla narrates: I was with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and on his chest (the narrator is in doubt; perhaps the words are:) on the stomach of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was Sayyiduna al-Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him), or perhaps Sayyiduna al-Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him). He urinated, and I saw the streaks of his urine. We moved towards the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: Leave my son! Do not disturb him until he finishes urinating. Then he poured water over it. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) got up and entered the house in which the dates of charity (sadaqah) were kept, and that child was with him. He took a date and put it in his mouth, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took it out and said: Charity is not lawful for us.
Imam Ahmad and Imam al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Sayyidah Umm al-Fadl bint al-Harith (may Allah be pleased with her) (who was the wife of Sayyiduna al-Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him)) brought Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her), the daughter of Sayyiduna al-Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), and seated her in the lap of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The girl urinated, so Sayyidah Umm al-Fadl (may Allah be pleased with her) snatched her away and struck her between her shoulders, then snatched her away again. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Give me a bowl of water! The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) poured that water over the urine. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Pour water over the place of urine.

For whoever harms him harms me, and whoever harms me harms Allah Almighty. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called for water and poured it over the urine. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Water is poured over the urine of a boy, and the urine of a girl is washed.
