Sayyiduna Ma'qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Uthman al-Ghani (may Allah be pleased with him) used to face difficulty because of madhi (pre-seminal fluid). He sent a man to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: That is madhi, and madhi comes out of every man. Wash it with water, perform ablution (wudu) and pray.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir as a narration transmitted by Ata' bin Ajlan, and the hadith scholars agree on his being da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) sent a man to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to ask him about madhi (pre-seminal fluid). Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) did not consider it appropriate to ask the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) himself, because Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) was his wife. That man said: O Messenger of Allah! A man looks at a woman and madhi comes out of him; is a ritual bath (ghusl) obligatory on him? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Young men face this; in such a case, ablution (wudu) is sufficient for you.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Abu Harun al-Abdi, on whose being da'if (weak) the hadith scholars agree.
