عَنْ مَعْقِلِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ كَانَ يَلْقَى مِنَ الْمَذْيِ شِدَّةً ، فَسَدَّدَ رَجُلًا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " ذَلِكَ الْمَذْيُ ، وَكُلُّ فَحْلٍ يَمْذِي، تَغْسِلُهُ بِالْمَاءِ وَتَوَضَّأْ وَصَلِّ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ مِنْ رِوَايَةِ عَطَاءِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، وَقَدْ أَجْمَعُوا عَلَى ضَعْفِهِ .

Sayyiduna Ma'qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Uthman al-Ghani (may Allah be pleased with him) used to face difficulty because of madhi (pre-seminal fluid). He sent a man to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: That is madhi, and madhi comes out of every man. Wash it with water, perform ablution (wudu) and pray.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir as a narration transmitted by Ata' bin Ajlan, and the hadith scholars agree on his being da'if (weak).
