Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Narrate about the Children of Israel, for there were astonishing things among them."
Al-Bazzar recorded it from his teacher Ja'far bin Muhammad bin Abi Waki', from his father, and I do not know either of them; the remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) told us about the Children of Israel for most of the night, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) (ended that talk and) rose only because the prayer was to be performed.
Al-Bazzar, Ahmad and Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir recorded it; its chain is sahih (authentic).

Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to his Companions: "When Allah Almighty took Sayyiduna Dawud in death, those people did not fall into trial, nor did they make any change (in their religion). Likewise the followers of Sayyiduna al-Masih (peace be upon him) remained on his guidance and his Sunnah for two hundred years."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and its narrators have been declared trustworthy.

Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Beware of extremism and showing off! For many among the Children of Israel went to extremes, to the point that a short woman had a pair of wooden shoes made, then put her feet into them, then went to a tall woman and walked alongside her, and she looked equal to her (the narrator is in doubt, or perhaps the words are:) taller than her."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains the narrator Marwan bin Ja'far, whom Ibn Abi Hatim declared trustworthy. Al-Azdi said: "The scholars of hadith have criticised him," and Imam al-Dhahabi said: "A manuscript is transmitted from him which contains munkar (denounced) reports."
