وَعَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - لِأَصْحَابِهِ : " لَقَدْ قَبَضَ اللَّهُ دَاوُدَ ، فَمَا فَتَنُوا وَلَا بَدَّلُوا ، وَلَقَدْ مَكَثَ أَصْحَابُ الْمَسِيحِ عَلَى هَدْيِهِ وَسُنَّتِهِ مِائَتَيْ سَنَةٍ " .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ مُوَثَّقُونَ .

Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to his Companions: "When Allah Almighty took Sayyiduna Dawud in death, those people did not fall into trial, nor did they make any change (in their religion). Likewise the followers of Sayyiduna al-Masih (peace be upon him) remained on his guidance and his Sunnah for two hundred years."
