Allah Almighty says: "And do not consume one another's wealth unjustly." [Surah al-Baqarah: 188]
And He said: "And never think that Allah is unaware of what the wrongdoers are doing; He is only granting them respite until a Day on which eyes will remain staring wide open (in terror)." [Surah Ibrahim: 42]

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said during the Farewell Hajj: "Listen! Which month do you consider the greatest in sanctity?" They replied: This month of ours (Dhu al-Hijjah). Then he said: "Which city do you consider the greatest in sanctity?" They replied: This city (Makkah). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you know which day is the greatest in sanctity?" They said: This day of ours (the day of Hajj). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah has made sacred for you your blood, your wealth and your honour, except by right, just like the sanctity of this day of yours in this city of yours. Listen! Have I conveyed (the message of Allah)?" He asked this three times, and all of them answered yes.

Through a chain (the same as this) a similar narration is reported, except that in it he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Listen! Which city," and "Listen! Which day," and (in their replies) it has: "Indeed, this month of ours," "Indeed, this city of ours," "Indeed, this day of ours." It also adds: "of this month of yours," and at its end it adds that he said: "Woe to you" (or: "Alas for you")! "Do not turn back after me into disbelievers, striking one another's necks."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when it was the day of the Farewell Hajj, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mounted his she-camel, then stood and said: "Do you know what day this is?" We remained silent, thinking that he (peace and blessings be upon him) would call it by a name other than its own. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Is it not the Day of Sacrifice?" We said: Certainly, O Messenger of Allah. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you know what month this is?" We remained silent, thinking that he (peace and blessings be upon him) would call it by a name other than its own. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Is it not Dhu al-Hijjah?" We said: Certainly, O Messenger of Allah. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Do you know what city this is?" We remained silent until we thought that he (peace and blessings be upon him) would call it by a name other than its own. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Is it not the (Sacred) City?" We said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, your wealth, your honour and your blood are sacred among you, just like the sanctity of this day of yours, in this city and in this month. Listen! Let the one who is present convey it to the one who is absent." He said this twice. "For perhaps the one to whom it is conveyed retains it better than the one who heard it." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) turned on his she-camel towards a small flock of sheep and began distributing them, one sheep between two men and one sheep among three.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not envy one another, do not hate one another, do not bid up prices against one another (najash), do not turn your backs on one another, and do not sell over the sale of your brother. O servants of Allah, be brothers to one another. A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim: he does not wrong him, nor humiliate him, nor look down upon him. Piety is here," and he (peace and blessings be upon him) pointed to his chest three times. "It is enough evil for a man that he looks down upon his Muslim brother. The blood, honour and wealth of every Muslim are sacred to another Muslim."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No one should milk another's animal without his permission. Would any of you like his storeroom to be entered, his store-chamber broken open, and his food carried away? In the same way, the udders of their livestock are a store of their food for them; their food is in them. So let no one milk another person's animal without his permission."

Sayyiduna Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that Allah Almighty said: "I have made wrongdoing forbidden for Myself and I have made it forbidden among you, so do not wrong one another. O My servants, you err by night and by day, and I forgive the errors and I do not mind; so seek forgiveness from Me and I will forgive you. O My servants, all of you are hungry except whom I feed, so ask Me for food and I will feed you. O My servants, all of you are naked except whom I clothe, so ask Me for clothing and I will clothe you. O My servants, if the first and the last of you, the humans and the jinn, all became pious, that would not add anything to My dominion. O My servants, if the first and the last of you, the humans and the jinn, all became wicked, that would not decrease anything from My dominion. O My servants, if the first and the last of you, the humans and the jinn, gathered in a single plain and asked of Me, and I gave each one of them what he wished, that would not decrease My treasures even as much as dipping a needle into the sea decreases it. O My servants, these are your deeds which I have preserved for you; so whoever finds good, let him praise Allah, and whoever finds something other than that, let him blame no one but himself."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you know who the bankrupt is?" The Companions replied: The bankrupt among us is the one who has neither dirhams nor goods. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The bankrupt is the one who will come on the Day of Resurrection with prayers, fasts and zakah, but besides that (in the world) he will have reviled someone, slandered someone, consumed someone's wealth, shed someone's blood and struck someone. So his good deeds will be given to them (those he wronged), and his good deeds will run out while there remain those still to be repaid; then their sins will be thrown upon him, and then he will be thrown into the Fire."
