It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty gives respite to the wrongdoer, until, when He seizes him, He does not let him go." Then he recited this verse: "And such is the seizure of your Lord when He seizes the towns while they are doing wrong; indeed, His seizure is very severe." [Surah Hud: 102]
