It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Bara' bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded seven things and forbade seven things. He (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to visit the sick, to attend the funeral, to spread the greeting of peace, to accept invitations, to respond to the one who sneezes, to help the oppressed, and to fulfil oaths. And he forbade us from drinking from silver vessels, and said: "Whoever drinks from them in this world will not drink from them in the Hereafter." And he forbade wearing gold rings, and he forbade riding on silk saddle-cushions, and he forbade wearing garments of qassi (a kind of silk), silk, dibaj (a kind of silk) and istabraq (a kind of silk).
