Sayyiduna Hajjaj bin Amr al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever has a limb broken or becomes lame has come out of ihram, and another Hajj is due on him." Ikrimah said: I related this to Ibn Abbas and Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with them both), and they said: He has spoken the truth.
(b) In one narration, Rawh narrates from Sayyiduna Hajjaj bin Amr al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him): "He has come out of ihram, and another Hajj is due on him."

Abdullah bin Rafi' (may Allah have mercy on him), the freed slave of Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), said: I asked Sayyiduna Hajjaj bin Amr al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) about a Muslim being held back, and he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has a bone broken or becomes lame has come out of ihram, and Hajj is due on him the following year." Ikrimah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I related this to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas and Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with them both), and they both said: Hajjaj (may Allah be pleased with him) has spoken the truth.
Ali bin al-Madini said: Al-Hajjaj al-Sawwaf, narrating from Yahya bin Abi Kathir, is more reliable (athbat).

Likewise (through another chain).
The Shaykh said: Some of the people of knowledge have interpreted it, if it is authentic, to mean that after missing (the Hajj) he leaves ihram in the same way as one who misses the Hajj without illness leaves ihram; for we have narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), firmly established from him, that he said: There is no confinement except confinement by an enemy. And Allah knows best.

Abd al-Rahman bin al-Aswad (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father, from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), concerning a man who was stung while he was in ihram for Umrah and was then prevented (from proceeding): Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Send his sacrificial animal to Makkah, and fix a day between yourselves and him as a sign; when the sacrificial animal has been slaughtered in Makkah, he leaves ihram."
Abu Ubayd (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Al-Kisa'i said: Al-amar means "a sign" by which a thing is recognised; that is, fix a known day so that you do not differ.
