Humran bin Aban said: I saw Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) performing ablution. He poured water over his hands three times, then washed them, then rinsed his mouth and blew his nose, then washed his face three times, then washed his right arm up to and including the elbow three times, then washed the left in the same way, then wiped his head, then washed his right foot three times, then washed the left foot in the same way. Then he said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) perform ablution like this, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever performs ablution like this ablution of mine, then prays two rak'ahs and does not let any thought arise within his heart, his previous (sins) will be forgiven."
