Hamzah bin al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah narrates from his father (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed behind (from the prayer), and I was with him (peace and blessings be upon him). When he had finished relieving himself, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you have water with you?" I brought a vessel of water, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) washed his palms and his face. Then he began to bring out his forearms, but the sleeve of the cloak was too tight, so he brought his hands out from under the cloak and placed the cloak over his shoulders. Then he washed his forearms and wiped over his forelock, his turban and his khuffs (leather socks).
