Bayhaqi 266 — Wiping the head

It is narrated from Ata' bin Yasar (may Allah have mercy on him) that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) asked us: Would you like me to show you how the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform ablution? Then he called for a vessel containing water (and he narrated the hadith). In it is: He took a handful of water, then shook off his hand and wiped his head and his ears.
