وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنبأ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا أَبُو عَمْرٍو الْمُسْتَمْلِي، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شَاذَانَ قَالَا: ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ بْنِ أَبِي مُوسَى، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: لَمَّا طُعِنَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، جَعَلَ صُهَيْبٌ يَقُولُ: وَا أَخَاهُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ: يَا صُهَيْبُ أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " إِنَّ الْمَيِّتَ لَيُعَذَّبُ بِبُكَاءِ الْحِيِّ " رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ الْخَلِيلِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُسْهِرٍ وَرَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُجْرٍ.
Abu Burdah bin Abi Musa narrated from his father that when Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was stabbed, Suhayb (may Allah be pleased with him) began to say: Alas, my brother! Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: O Suhayb! Do you not know that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The deceased is punished because of the weeping of the living."
