Bayhaqi 7164 — Reports indicating that the deceased is punished
وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو صَالِحِ بْنُ أَبِي طَاهِرٍ، ثنا جَدِّي ابْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ، رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " الْمَيِّتُ يُعَذَّبُ بِمَا نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ فِي قَبْرِهِ ". رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ بَشَّارٍ. وَأَخْرَجَهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدَانَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ وَأَخْرَجَاهُ أَيْضًا مِنْ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ هَكَذَا.
Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The deceased is punished in the grave because of the wailing done over him."
