«بين كل أذانين صلاة لمن شاء»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Between every two calls (that is, the adhan and the iqamah) there is a prayer, for whoever wishes to offer it."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Between every two rak'ahs there is the tashahhud (sitting for the tashahhud)."

«بين يدي الساعة أيام الهرج»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Before the Hour there will be the days of harj (that is, widespread killing and bloodshed)."

«بين يدي الساعة تقاتلون قوما نعالهم الشعر وهم أهل النار»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Before the Hour you will fight a people whose sandals are made of hair, and they are the people of Hell."
"Before the Hour you will fight a people whose sandals are made of hair, and they are the people of Hell."
«بين يدي الساعة تقاتلون قوما ينتعلون الشعر وتقاتلون قوما كأن وجوهم المجان المطرقة»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Before the Hour you will fight a people who wear sandals of hair, and you will (also) fight a people whose faces will be (broad and flat) like shields covered with layer upon layer of leather."
"Before the Hour you will fight a people who wear sandals of hair, and you will (also) fight a people whose faces will be (broad and flat) like shields covered with layer upon layer of leather."
«بين يدي الساعة فتن كقطع الليل المظلم»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Before the Hour, trials will appear like the dark portions of a pitch-black night (terrifying and one after another)."

«بين يدي الساعة مسخ وخسف وقذف»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Before the Hour, the forms (of wrongdoers) will be transformed, there will be incidents of sinking into the earth, and there will be a rain (of stones from the sky)."

«بينا أنا أسير في الجنة إذ عرض لي نهر حافتاه قباب اللؤلؤ المجوف قلت: يا جبريل ما هذا؟ قال: هذا الكوثر الذي أعطاكه الله ثم ضرب بيده إلى طينه فاستخرج مسكا ثم رفعت لي سدرة المنتهى فرأيت عندها نورا عظيما»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"While I was walking about in Paradise, suddenly a river was presented before me, on both banks of which were domes of hollow pearls. I asked: O Jibril, what is this? He replied: This is the (river of) Kawthar which Allah Almighty has granted you. Then the angel struck the soil of that river with his hand and brought out pure musk from it. Then the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary (Sidrat al-Muntaha) was raised up before me, and I saw beside it a very great and tremendous light."

«بينا أنا نائم أتيت بخزائن الأرض فوضع في يدي سواران من ذهب فكبرا علي وأهماني فأوحى الله إلي: أن انفخهما فنفختهما فذهبا فأولتهما الكذابين اللذين أنا بينهما: صاحب صنعاء وصاحب اليمامة»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"While I was asleep, the treasures of the earth were brought to me, and two bracelets of gold were placed in my hands. They felt very heavy to me and caused me worry, so Allah Almighty revealed to me that I should blow on them. So I blew on them and they both flew away (disappeared). I interpreted them as the two liars (false claimants to prophethood) between whom I am: one the man of San'a (al-Aswad al-Ansi) and the other the man of Yamamah (Musaylimah the Liar)."

«بينا أنا نائم إذ أتيت بقدح لبن فشربت منه حتى لأرى الري يجري في أظفاري ثم أعطيت فضلي عمر بن الخطاب قالوا: فما أولته يا رسول الله؟ قال: العلم»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"While I was asleep, a cup of milk was suddenly brought to me. I drank from it (so fully) that I began to feel its quenching flowing out from my nails. Then I gave what I had left over to Umar bin al-Khattab." (The Companions) said: O Messenger of Allah, how have you interpreted this dream? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "(It means) knowledge."
"While I was asleep, a cup of milk was suddenly brought to me. I drank from it (so fully) that I began to feel its quenching flowing out from my nails. Then I gave what I had left over to Umar bin al-Khattab." (The Companions) said: O Messenger of Allah, how have you interpreted this dream? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "(It means) knowledge."
«بينا أنا نائم رأيت الناس يعرضون علي وعليهم قمص منها ما يبلغ الثدي ومنها ما يبلغ أسفل من ذلك وعرض علي عمر بن الخطاب وعليه قميص يجره قالوا: فما أولته يا رسول الله؟ قال: الدين»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"While I was asleep, I saw people being presented before me, wearing shirts; some of their shirts reached the chest and some reached lower than that. And Umar bin al-Khattab was presented before me, wearing such a (long) shirt that he was dragging it along the ground (as he walked)." (The Companions) said: O Messenger of Allah, how have you interpreted this? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "(It means) religion (its firmness)."
"While I was asleep, I saw people being presented before me, wearing shirts; some of their shirts reached the chest and some reached lower than that. And Umar bin al-Khattab was presented before me, wearing such a (long) shirt that he was dragging it along the ground (as he walked)." (The Companions) said: O Messenger of Allah, how have you interpreted this? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "(It means) religion (its firmness)."
«بينا أنا نائم رأيت في يدي سوارين من ذهب فأهمني شأنهما فأوحي إلي في المنام: أن انفخهما فنفختهما فطارا فأولتهما كذابين يخرجان من بعدي فكان أحدهما العنسي والآخر مسيلمة»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"While I was asleep, I saw in a dream that there were two bracelets of gold in my hands. Their matter caused me great worry. Then it was revealed to me in the dream itself that I should blow on them. So I blew on them and they flew away. I interpreted this to mean that two liars (false claimants to prophethood) would emerge after me; one of them was al-Ansi and the other Musaylimah (the Liar)."

«بينا أنا نائم رأيتني في الجنة فإذا أنا بامرأة تتوضأ إلى جانب قصر فقلت: لمن هذا القصر؟ قالوا: لعمر بن الخطاب فذكرت غيرتك فوليت مدبرا»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"While I was asleep, I saw myself in Paradise in a dream. There a woman was performing ablution beside a palace. I asked: Whose palace is this? The angels said: It belongs to Umar bin al-Khattab. At that moment I remembered your sense of honour (ghayrah), so I turned my back and went away."

«بينا أيوب يغتسل عريانا خر عليه جراد من ذهب فجعل أيوب يحثي في ثوبه فناداه ربه تبارك وتعالى: يا أيوب ألم أكن أغنيتك عما ترى؟ قال: بلى وعزتك ولكن لا غنى بي عن بركتك»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Once Ayyub (peace be upon him) was bathing naked when locusts of gold began to fall upon him, and Ayyub (peace be upon him) began gathering them into his garment. At this his Lord, the Blessed and Exalted, called out to him: O Ayyub, have I not made you free of need of what you see? He said: Certainly, by Your might! But I can never be free of need of Your blessing."

«بينا رجل بفلاة من الأرض فسمع صوتا في سحابة يقول: اسق حديقة فلان فتنحى ذلك السحاب فأفرغ ماءه في حرة فإذا شرجة من تلك الشراج قد استوعبت ذلك الماء كله فتتبع الماء فإذا رجل قائم في حديقته يحول الماء بمسحاته فقال له: يا عبد الله ما اسمك؟ قال: فلان للاسم الذي سمع في السحابة فقال له: يا عبد الله لم تسألني عن اسمي؟ قال: إني سمعت صوتا في السحاب الذي هذا ماؤه يقول: اسق حديقة فلان لاسمك فما تصنع فيها؟ قال: أما إذ قلت هذا فإني أنظر إلى ما يخرج منها فأتصدق بثلثه وآكل أنا وعيالي ثلثا وأرد فيها ثلثا»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"A man was in a barren wilderness when he heard a voice in a cloud saying: Water the garden of so-and-so. So that cloud moved aside and poured all its water onto a stony tract of land. There, one of the water channels took in all of that water. The man followed the water and saw a man standing in his garden, turning the flow of the water with his spade. He asked him: O servant of Allah, what is your name? He told him the very name that he had heard in the cloud. Then the owner of the garden asked him: O servant of Allah, why are you asking me my name? He replied: I heard a voice in the cloud whose water this is, saying: Water the garden of so-and-so, and it mentioned your name. So what do you do in this garden? The owner of the garden said: Since you have said this, then listen: I look at what this garden produces, then I give a third of it in charity, I and my family eat a third, and the remaining third I put back into this garden (as its cost)."

«بينما أنا على بئر أنزع منها إذ جاء أبو بكر وعمر فأخذ أبو بكر الدلو فنزع ذنوبا أو ذنوبين وفي نزعه ضعف فغفر الله له ثم أخذها ابن الخطاب من يد أبي بكر فاستحالت في يده غربا فلم أر عبقريا من الناس يفري فريه حتى ضرب الناس بعطن»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"I was standing at a well, drawing water from it, when Abu Bakr and Umar came. Abu Bakr took the bucket and drew one or two bucketfuls, and there was some weakness in his drawing. May Allah forgive him. Then Ibn al-Khattab took the bucket from the hand of Abu Bakr, and in his hand it turned into a huge leather bucket. I did not see any mighty man among the people who could work as strongly as he did, until the people (having watered their animals) made them kneel down in their resting places."
"I was standing at a well, drawing water from it, when Abu Bakr and Umar came. Abu Bakr took the bucket and drew one or two bucketfuls, and there was some weakness in his drawing. May Allah forgive him. Then Ibn al-Khattab took the bucket from the hand of Abu Bakr, and in his hand it turned into a huge leather bucket. "بينما أنا في الحطيم مضطجعا إذ أتاني آت فقد ما بين هذه إلى هذه فاستخرج قلبي ثم أتيت بطست من ذهب مملوءة إيمانا فغسل قلبي بماء زمزم ثم حشي ثم أعيد ثم أتيت بدابة دون البغل وفوق الحمار أبيض يقال له البراق يضع خطوه عند أقصى طرفه فحملت عليه فانطلق بي جبريل حتى أتى السماء الدنيا فاستفتح قيل من هذا؟ قال: جبريل قي: ومن معك؟ قال: محمد قيل: وقد أرسل إليه؟ قال: نعم قيل: مرحبا به فنعم المجيء جاء ففتح فلما خلصت فإذا فيها آدم فقال: هذا أبوك آدم فسلم عليه فسلمت عليه فرد السلام ثم قال: مرحبا بالنبي الصالح والابن الصالح; ثم صعد بي حتى أتى السماء الثانية فاستفتح فقيل: من هذا؟ قال: جبريل قيل: ومن معك؟ قال: محمد قيل وقد أرسل إليه؟ قال: نعم قيل مرحبا به فنعم المجيء جاء ففتح فلما خلصت إذا بيحيى وعيسى وهما ابنا الخالة قال: هذا يحيى وعيسى فسلم عليهما فسلمت فردا ثم قالا: مرحبا بالأخ الصالح والنبي الصالح; ثم صعد بي إلى السماء الثالثة فاستفتح قيل: من هذا؟ قال: جبريل قيل: ومن معك؟ قال: محمد قيل: وقد أرسل إليه؟ قال: نعم قيل: مرحبا به فنعم المجيء جاء ففتح فلما خلصت إذا يوسف قال: هذا يوسف فسلم عليه فسلمت عليه فرد ثم قال: مرحبا بالأخ الصالح والنبي الصالح; ثم صعد بي حتى أتى السماء الرابعة فاستفتح قيل: من هذا؟ قال: جبريل قيل: ومن معك؟ قال: محمد قيل: وقد أرسل إليه؟ قال: نعم قيل: مرحبا به فنعم المجيء جاء ففتح فلما خلصت إذا إدريس قال: هذا إدريس فسلم عليه فسلمت فرد ثم قال: مرحبا بالأخ الصالح والنبي الصالح; ¤ ثم صعد بي إلى السماء الخامسة فاستفتح قيل: من هذا؟ قال: جبريل قيل: ومن معك؟ قال: محمد قيل: وقد أرسل إليه؟ قال: نعم قيل: مرحبا به فنعم المجيء جاء فلما خلصت إذا هارون قال: هذا هارون فسلم عليه فسلمت عليه فرد ثم قال: مرحبا بالأخ الصالح والنبي الصالح; ثم صعد بي إلى السماء السادسة فاستفتح قيل: من هذا؟ قال: جبريل قيل: ومن معك؟ قال: محمد قيل: وقد أرسل إليه؟ قال: نعم قيل: مرحبا به فنعم المجيء جاء فلما خلصت فإذا موسى قال: هذا موسى فسلم عليه فسلمت عليه فرد ثم قال: مرحبا بالأخ الصالح والنبي الصالح فلما تجاوزت بكى قيل له: ما يبكيك؟ قال: أبكي لأن غلاما بعث بعدي يدخل الجنة من أمته أكثر ممن يدخل من أمتي; ثم صعد بي إلى السماء السابعة فاستفتح قيل: من هذا؟ قال: جبريل قيل: ومن معك؟ قال محمد قيل: وقد بعث إليه؟ قال: نعم قيل: مرحبا به فنعم المجيء جاء فلما خلصت إذا إبراهيم قال: هذا أبوك إبراهيم فسلم عليه فسلمت عليه فرد السلام فقال: مرحبا بالابن الصالح والنبي الصالح; ثم رفعت لي سدرة المنتهى فإذا نبقها مثل قلال هجر وإذا ورقها مثل آذان الفيلة قال: هذه سدرة المنتهى وإذا أربعة أنهار نهران باطنان ونهران ظاهران قلت: ما هذان يا جبريل؟ قال: أما الباطنان فنهران في الجنة وأما الظاهران فالنيل والفرات ثم رفع لي البيت المعمور فقلت: يا جبريل! ما هذا؟ قال: هذا البيت المعمور يدخله كل يوم سبعون ألف ملك إذا خرجوا منه لم يعودوا ¤ إليه آخر ما عليهم ثم أتيت بإناء من خمر وإناء من لبن وإناء من عسل فأخذت اللبن فقال: هي الفطرة التي أنت عليها وأمتك; ثم فرض علي خمسون صلاة كل يوم فرجعت فمررت على موسى فقال: بم أمرت؟ قلت: أمرت بخمسين صلاة كل يوم قال: إن أمتك لا تستطيع خمسين صلاة كل يوم وإني والله قد جربت الناس قبلك وعالجت بني إسرائيل أشد المعالجة فارجع إلى ربك فسله التخفيف لأمتك فرجعت فوضع عني عشرا فرجعت إلى موسى فقال مثله فرجعت فوضع عني عشرا فرجعت إلى موسى فقال مثله فرجعت فوضع عني عشرا فرجعت إلى موسى فقال مثله فرجعت فوضع عني عشرا فأمرت بعشر صلوات كل يوم فقال مثله فرجعت فأمرت بخمس صلوات كل يوم فرجعت إلى موسى فقال: بم أمرت؟ قلت: أمرت بخمس صلوات كل يوم قال: إن أمتك لا تستطيع خمس صلوات كل يوم وإني قد جربت الناس قبلك وعالجت بني إسرائيل أشد المعالجة فارجع إلى ربك فسله التخفيف لأمتك قلت: سألت ربي حتى استحييت منه ولكن أرضى وأسلم فلما جاوزت نادانى مناد أمضيت فريضتي وخففت عن عبادي"
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"I was lying down in the Hatim when suddenly someone (an angel) came to me and cut open from here to here (that is, from the throat to the lower abdomen), then he took out my heart. Then a golden basin full of faith was brought to me, my heart was washed with Zamzam water, then it was filled (with faith and wisdom) and put back in its place. Then a white mount smaller than a mule and larger than a donkey was brought to me, which was called al-Buraq; it would place its hoof at the farthest limit of its sight. I was mounted on it. Then Jibril set off with me until he reached the lowest heaven and asked for the gate to be opened. It was asked: Who is this? He said: Jibril. It was asked: And who is with you? He said: Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). It was asked: Has he been summoned? He said: Yes. It was said: Welcome to him; how blessed is his coming! Then the gate was opened. When I entered, there was Adam (peace be upon him). Jibril said: This is your father Adam; greet him with salam. I greeted him, and he returned the greeting, then said: Welcome to the righteous prophet and the righteous son. Then Jibril ascended with me until he reached the second heaven and asked for the gate to be opened. It was asked: Who is this? He said: Jibril. It was asked: Who is with you? He said: Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). It was asked: Has he been summoned? He said: Yes. It was said: Welcome to him; how blessed is his coming! Then the gate was opened. When I entered, there were Yahya and Isa (peace be upon them both), and they are maternal cousins. Jibril said: These are Yahya and Isa; greet them with salam. I greeted them, and both of them returned the greeting and said: Welcome to the righteous brother and the righteous prophet. Then Jibril ascended with me to the third heaven and asked for the gate to be opened. It was asked: Who is this? He said: Jibril. It was asked: Who is with you? He said: Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). It was asked: Has he been summoned? He said: Yes. It was said: Welcome to him; how blessed is his coming! Then the gate was opened. When I entered, there was Yusuf (peace be upon him). Jibril said: This is Yusuf; greet him with salam. I greeted him, and he returned the greeting and said: Welcome to the righteous brother and the righteous prophet. Then he took me up to the fourth heaven and asked for the gate to be opened. It was asked: Who is this? He said: Jibril. It was asked: Who is with you? He said: Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). It was asked: Has he been summoned? He said: Yes. It was said: Welcome to him; how blessed is his coming! Then the gate was opened. When I entered, there was Idris (peace be upon him). Jibril said: This is Idris; greet him with salam. I greeted him, and he returned the greeting, then said: Welcome to the righteous brother and the righteous prophet. Then he ascended with me to the fifth heaven and asked for the gate to be opened. It was asked: Who is this? He said: Jibril. It was asked: Who is with you? He said: Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). It was asked: Has he been summoned? He said: Yes. It was said: Welcome to him; how blessed is his coming! When I entered, there was Harun (peace be upon him). Jibril said: This is Harun; greet him with salam. I greeted him, and he returned the greeting, then said: Welcome to the righteous brother and the righteous prophet. Then he took me to the sixth heaven and asked for the gate to be opened. It was asked: Who is this? He said: Jibril. It was asked: Who is with you? He said: Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). It was asked: Has he been summoned? He said: Yes. It was said: Welcome to him; how blessed is his coming! When I entered, there was Musa (peace be upon him). Jibril said: This is Musa; greet him with salam. I greeted him, and he returned the greeting, then said: Welcome to the righteous brother and the righteous prophet. When I began to move on, he began to weep. He was asked: Why are you weeping? He said: I weep because a young man who was sent after me, more of his Ummah will enter Paradise than of my Ummah. Then Jibril ascended with me to the seventh heaven and asked for the gate to be opened. It was asked: Who is this? He said: Jibril. It was asked: And who is with you? He said: Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). It was asked: Has he been summoned? He said: Yes. It was said: Welcome to him; how blessed is his coming! When I entered, there was Ibrahim (peace be upon him). Jibril said: This is your father Ibrahim; greet him with salam. I greeted him, and he returned the greeting, then said: Welcome to the righteous son and the righteous prophet. Then the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary (Sidrat al-Muntaha) was raised up before me; its fruits were like the earthenware jars of Hajar and its leaves were like the ears of elephants. Jibril said: This is the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary. There were four rivers there, two hidden rivers and two visible rivers. I asked: O Jibril, what are these? He said: As for the hidden ones, they are two rivers of Paradise, and as for the visible ones, they are the Nile and the Euphrates. Then al-Bayt al-Ma'mur (the Frequented House) was brought up before me. I asked: O Jibril, what is this? He said: This is al-Bayt al-Ma'mur; every day seventy thousand angels enter it, and once they leave it, their turn never comes again. Then a vessel of wine, a vessel of milk and a vessel of honey were brought to me. I took the milk. He said: This is the natural disposition (fitrah) upon which you and your Ummah stand. Then fifty prayers every day were made obligatory upon me. I returned and passed by Musa (peace be upon him). He asked: What have you been commanded? I said: I have been commanded fifty prayers every day. He said: Your Ummah is not able to bear fifty prayers every day, and by Allah, I have tested people before you and dealt with the Children of Israel with the utmost hardship, so go back to your Lord and ask Him for a reduction for your Ummah. So I went back, and Allah Almighty reduced ten prayers. I came back to Musa, and he said the same thing again. I went back again, and Allah Almighty reduced another ten prayers. I came back to Musa, and he said the same thing again. I went back again, and another ten were reduced. I came back to Musa, and he said the same thing again. I went back again, and another ten were reduced. Then I was commanded ten prayers every day. Musa said the same thing again. So I went back again, and I was commanded five prayers every day. I returned to Musa, and he asked: What have you been commanded? I said: I have been commanded five prayers every day. He said: Your Ummah is not able to bear even five prayers every day, and I have tested people before you and dealt with the Children of Israel with the utmost hardship, so go back to your Lord and ask Him for a reduction for your Ummah. I said: I have asked my Lord so many times that now I feel shy before Him; rather, I am now content and I submit. Then, when I moved on, a caller called out: I have enforced My obligation and I have lightened the burden on My servants."
"I was lying down in the Hatim when suddenly someone (an angel) came to me and cut open from here to here (that is, from the throat to the lower abdomen), then he took out my heart. Then a golden basin full of faith was brought to me, my heart was washed with Zamzam water, then it was filled (with faith and wisdom) and put back in its place. Then a white mount smaller than a mule and larger than a donkey was brought to me, which was called al-Buraq; it would place its hoof at the farthest limit of its sight. I was mounted on it. Then Jibril set off with me until he reached the lowest heaven and asked for the gate to be opened. It was asked: Who is this? He said: Jibril. It was asked: And who is with you? He said: Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). It was asked: Has he been summoned? He said: Yes. It was said: Welcome to him; how blessed is his coming! Then the gate was opened. When I entered, there was Adam (peace be upon him). Jibril said: This is your father Adam; greet him with salam. I greeted him, and he returned the greeting, then said: Welcome to the righteous prophet and the righteous son. Then Jibril ascended with me until he reached the second heaven and asked for the gate to be opened. It was asked: Who is this? He said: Jibril. It was asked: Who is with you? He said: Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). It was asked: Has he been summoned? He said: Yes. It was said: Welcome to him; how blessed is his coming! Then the gate was opened. When I entered, there were Yahya and Isa (peace be upon them both), and they are maternal cousins. Jibril said: These are Yahya and Isa; greet them with salam. I greeted them, and both of them returned the greeting and said: Welcome to the righteous brother and the righteous prophet. Then Jibril ascended with me to the third heaven and asked for the gate to be opened. It was asked: Who is this? He said: Jibril. It was asked: Who is with you? He said: Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). It was asked: Has he been summoned? He said: Yes. It was said: Welcome to him; how blessed is his coming! Then the gate was opened. When I entered, there was Yusuf (peace be upon him). Jibril said: This is Yusuf; greet him with salam. I greeted him, and he returned the greeting and said: Welcome to the righteous brother and the righteous prophet. Then he took me up to the fourth heaven and asked for the gate to be opened. It was asked: Who is this? He said: Jibril. It was asked: Who is with you? He said: Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). It was asked: Has he been summoned? He said: Yes. It was said: Welcome to him; how blessed is his coming! Then the gate was opened. When I entered, there was Idris (peace be upon him). Jibril said: This is Idris; greet him with salam. I greeted him, and he returned the greeting, then said: Welcome to the righteous brother and the righteous prophet. Then he ascended with me to the fifth heaven and asked for the gate to be opened. It was asked: Who is this? He said: Jibril. It was asked: Who is with you? He said: Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). It was asked: Has he been summoned? He said: Yes. It was said: Welcome to him; how blessed is his coming! When I entered, there was Harun (peace be upon him). Jibril said: This is Harun; greet him with salam. I greeted him, and he returned the greeting, then said: Welcome to the righteous brother and the righteous prophet. Then he took me to the sixth heaven and asked for the gate to be opened. It was asked: Who is this? He said: Jibril. It was asked: Who is with you? He said: Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). It was asked: Has he been summoned? He said: Yes. It was said: Welcome to him; how blessed is his coming! When I entered, there was Musa (peace be upon him). Jibril said: This is Musa; greet him with salam. I greeted him, and he returned the greeting, then said: Welcome to the righteous brother and the righteous prophet. When I began to move on, he began to weep. He was asked: Why are you weeping? He said: I weep because a young man who was sent after me, more of his Ummah will enter Paradise than of my Ummah. Then Jibril ascended with me to the seventh heaven and asked for the gate to be opened. It was asked: Who is this? He said: Jibril. It was asked: And who is with you? He said: Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). It was asked: Has he been summoned? He said: Yes. It was said: Welcome to him; how blessed is his coming! When I entered, there was Ibrahim (peace be upon him). Jibril said: This is your father Ibrahim; greet him with salam. I greeted him, and he returned the greeting, then said: Welcome to the righteous son and the righteous prophet. Then the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary (Sidrat al-Muntaha) was raised up before me; its fruits were like the earthenware jars of Hajar and its leaves were like the ears of elephants. Jibril said: This is the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary. There were four rivers there, two hidden rivers and two visible rivers. I asked: O Jibril, what are these? He said: As for the hidden ones, they are two rivers of Paradise, and as for the visible ones, they are the Nile and the Euphrates. Then al-Bayt al-Ma'mur (the Frequented House) was brought up before me. I asked: O Jibril, what is this? He said: This is al-Bayt al-Ma'mur; every day seventy thousand angels enter it, and once they leave it, their turn never comes again. Then a vessel of wine, a vessel of milk and a vessel of honey were brought to me. I took the milk. He said: This is the natural disposition (fitrah) upon which you and your Ummah stand. Then fifty prayers every day were made obligatory upon me. I returned and passed by Musa (peace be upon him). He asked: What have you been commanded? I said: I have been commanded fifty prayers every day. He said: Your Ummah is not able to bear fifty prayers every day, and by Allah, I have tested people before you and dealt with the Children of Israel with the utmost hardship, so go back to your Lord and ask Him for a reduction for your Ummah. So I went back, and Allah Almighty reduced ten prayers. I came back to Musa, and he said the same thing again. I went back again, and Allah Almighty reduced another ten prayers. I came back to Musa, and he said the same thing again. I went back again, and another ten were reduced. I came back to Musa, and he said the same thing again. I went back again, and another ten were reduced. Then I was commanded ten prayers every day. Musa said the same thing again. So I went back again, and I was commanded five prayers every day. I returned to Musa, and he asked: What have you been commanded? I said: I have been commanded five prayers every day. He said: Your Ummah is not able to bear even five prayers every day, and I have tested people before you and dealt with the Children of Israel with the utmost hardship, so go back to your Lord and ask Him for a reduction for your Ummah. «بينما أنا نائم إذا زمرة حتى إذا عرفتهم خرج رجل من بيني وبينهم فقال: هلم قلت: أين؟ قال: إلى النار والله قلت: ما شأنهم؟ قال: إنهم ارتدوا بعدك على أدبارهم القهقرى ثم إذا زمرة حتى إذا عرفتهم خرج رجل من بيني وبينهم فقال: هلم قلت: أين؟ قال: إلى النار قلت: ما شأنهم؟ قال: إنهم ارتدوا بعدك على أدبارهم القهقرى فلا أراه يخلص منهم إلا مثل همل النعم»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"I was asleep when suddenly a group appeared. When I recognised them, a man came out from between me and them and said: Come. I asked: Where? He said: To the Fire, by Allah! I asked: What is their matter? He said: They turned back on their heels after you. Then suddenly another group appeared. When I recognised them, a man came out from between me and them and said: Come. I asked: Where? He said: To the Fire. I asked: What is their matter? He said: They turned back on their heels after you. So I think that none of them will be saved except as few as the stray camels left to graze untended."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"I was asleep and saw myself at a well on which there was a bucket. I drew from it as much water as Allah willed. Then Ibn Abi Quhafah (Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him) took it and drew one or two bucketfuls of water, and there was some weakness in his drawing; may Allah forgive him that weakness. Then the bucket became large, and Ibn al-Khattab (Umar, may Allah be pleased with him) took hold of it. I did not see anyone among the people drawing water as Umar did, until the people (that is, the camels) drank their fill and settled down in their resting place."

"بينما ثلاثة نفر يمشون أخذهم المطر فآووا إلى غار في جبل فانحطت على فم غارهم صخرة من الجبل فانطبقت عليهم فقال بعضهم لبعض: انظروا أعمالا عملتموها صالحة لله فادعوا بها لعله يفرجها عنكم; فقال أحدهم: اللهم إنه كان لي والدان شيخان كبيران وامرأتي ولي صبية صغار أرعى عليهم فإذا أرحت عليهم حلبت فبدأت بوالدي فسقيتهما قبل بني وإني نأى بي ذات يوم الشجر فلم آت حتى أمسيت فوجدتهما قد ناما فحلبت كما كنت أحلب فجئت بالحلاب فقمت عند رءوسهما أكره أن أوقظهما من نومهما وأكره أن أسقى الصبية قبلهما والصبية يتضاغون عند قدمي فلم يزل ذلك دأبي ودأبهم حتى طلع الفجر فإن كنت تعلم أني فعلت ذلك ابتغاء وجهك فافرج لنا فرجة نرى منها السماء ففرج الله منها فرجة فرأوا منها السماء; ¤ وقال الآخر: اللهم إنه كانت لي ابنة عم أحببتها كأشد ما يحب الرجال النساء وطلبت إليها نفسها فأبت حتى آتيها بمائة دينار فتعبت حتى جمعت مائة دينار فجئتها بها فلما وقعت بين رجليها قالت: يا عبد الله اتق الله ولا تفتح الخاتم إلا بحقه فقمت عنها فإن كنت تعلم أني فعلت ذلك ابتغاء وجهك فافرج لنا منها فرجة ففرج لهم فرجة; وقال الآخر: اللهم إني كنت استأجرت أجيرا بفرق أرز فلما قضى عمله قال لي: أعطني حقي فعرضت عليه فرقه فرغب عنه فلم أزل أزرعه حتى جمعت منه بقرا ورعاءها فجاءني فقال: اتق الله ولا تظلمني حقي قلت: اذهب إلى تلك البقر ورعائها فخذها فقال: اتق الله ولا تستهزئ بي فقلت: إني لا أستهزئ بك خذ ذلك البقر ورعاءها فأخذه وذهب به فإن كنت تعلم أني فعلت ذلك ابتغاء وجهك فافرج ما بقي ففرج الله ما بقي"
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Three men were walking along when rain overtook them, so they took shelter in a cave in a mountain. Then a boulder rolled down from the mountain onto the mouth of their cave and sealed it upon them. So they said to one another: Look to the righteous deeds that you have done for the sake of Allah, and supplicate by means of them; perhaps Allah will remove this (hardship) from you. So one of them said: O Allah, I had very elderly parents, I had my wife and I had little children, and I used to graze (the goats) for them. When I brought (the goats) back to them in the evening, I would milk them and begin with my parents, giving them to drink before my children. One day (the search for) trees took me far away and I could not come until evening had fallen, and I found that both of them had fallen asleep. I milked as usual and, taking the milk vessel, stood by their heads. I disliked waking them from their sleep, and I also disliked giving the children to drink before them, while the children were crying (from hunger) at my feet. This remained my state and theirs until dawn broke. (O Allah,) if You know that I did this only to seek Your pleasure, then make an opening for us through which we can see the sky. So Allah made some opening in it, and they saw the sky through it. The second said: O Allah, I had a cousin, the daughter of my paternal uncle, whom I loved as intensely as men can love women. I sought her for herself, but she refused unless I brought her a hundred dinars. I toiled until I had gathered a hundred dinars and brought them to her. Then, when I sat between her legs, she said: O servant of Allah, fear Allah and do not break the seal except by its right. So I got up and left her. (O Allah,) if You know that I did this only to seek Your pleasure, then make some opening for us from it. So Allah made some further opening for them. The third said: O Allah, I hired a labourer for one faraq (a measure) of rice. When he had finished his work, he said to me: Give me my due. I offered him his faraq, but he turned away from it (and left it). I kept on cultivating it until from it I had gathered cows and their herdsmen. Then he came to me and said: Fear Allah and do not wrong me in my due. I said: Go to those cows and their herdsmen and take them. He said: Fear Allah and do not mock me. I said: I am not mocking you; take these cows and their herdsmen. So he took them and went away. (O Allah,) if You know that I did this only to seek Your pleasure, then open up what remains as well. So Allah opened up the remaining part too."

"Once a man was riding a cow, and the cow turned to him and said: I was not created for this (riding); rather, I was created for tilling the land. I (that is, Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)) believe in this, and so do Abu Bakr and Umar. Likewise, a man was among his goats when a wolf attacked and seized a goat. The man chased it and rescued the goat from it. The wolf said to him: Today you have rescued it from me, but who will be its guardian on the day of the wild beasts (that is, in the era of trials), the day when there will be no shepherd for them other than me? I believe in this too, and so do Abu Bakr and Umar."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"A man was walking along a road when he became extremely thirsty. He found a well, so he went down into it, drank water and came out. Suddenly he saw a dog panting from the intensity of thirst and licking the moist earth. The man said to himself: This dog has been struck by the same intensity of thirst as I was. So he went down into the well again, filled his leather sock with water, then held it in his mouth, climbed up and gave the dog water to drink. Allah Almighty appreciated this deed of his and forgave him. (Remember!) There is reward in doing good to every creature with a moist liver (that is, every living being)."

"A man was walking in his fine garment, pleased with himself and with the hair of his head combed, when suddenly Allah Almighty caused the earth to swallow him, and he will keep sinking down into the earth until the Day of Resurrection."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"A dog was circling around a well, and thirst had almost killed it, when a prostitute from among the prostitutes of the Children of Israel saw it. She took off her leather sock, drew water with it and gave it to drink, and she was forgiven because of this (good) deed."
