It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Husayn bin Kharijah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: When the first tribulation broke out, the matter became confusing for me, so I prayed: O Allah! Show me the path of truth that I may hold on to firmly. He says: Then I was shown in a dream this world and the Hereafter, with a small wall between them. I was on a high place, and I thought: If I go down from here, perhaps I may meet those killed from the tribe of Ashja' and they may tell me something. He says: I descended onto a land with many trees, and there were some people sitting there. I asked: Are you the martyrs? They said: No, we are the angels. I asked: Where are the martyrs? They said: They are ahead, in the lofty ranks, with Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). I went forward and saw a rank whose vastness and beauty Allah alone knows best. There I saw Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and Ibrahim (peace be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) was saying to Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him): "Seek forgiveness for my Ummah." Ibrahim (peace be upon him) said to him: "You do not know what innovations they introduced after you. They shed their own blood and killed their imam. Why did they not do as my intimate friend Sa'd (bin Abi Waqqas) did?" I thought (in the dream) that I had been shown the path: I will go to Sayyiduna Sa'd and see whom he is with, so that I too may be with him. I came to him and related my dream to him, and he was very pleased with it and said: "Wretched is the one who does not have Ibrahim as an intimate friend." I asked: Which of the two groups are you with? He said: "I am not with either of them." I said: Then what do you command me to do? He said: "Do you have livestock?" I said: No. He said: "Then buy livestock and withdraw into seclusion with them until this tribulation is over."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allegiance will be pledged to a man between the Corner (al-Rukn) and the Station (al-Maqam). And none will violate the sanctity of this House (the Ka'bah) except its own people. When they violate its sanctity, then do not ask about the destruction of the Arabs. Then the Abyssinians will come and demolish it in such a way that it will never be inhabited again after that, and they are the ones who will take out its treasure."
