حدثنا عيسى بن زيد بن عيسى بن عبد الله بن مسلم بن عبد الله بن محمد بن عقيل بن أبي طالب، حدثنا يونس بن عبد الأعلى الصَّدَفي، حدثنا محمد بن إدريس الشافعي، أخبرنا محمد بن خالد الجندي، عن أبان بن صالح، عن الحسن، عن أنس بن مالك قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "لا يزداد الأمرُ إلَّا شِدّة، ولا الدِّينُ إلَّا إدبارًا، ولا الناسُ إِلَّا شُحًّا، ولا تقومُ الساعةُ إلَّا على شرار الناس، ولا مهدي إلَّا عيسى ابن مريم" (1).
هذا حديث يُعَدُّ في أفراد الشافعي ﵁، وليس كذلك، فقد حدَّث به غَيرُه:

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Affairs will only increase in hardship, the religion will only increase in turning away (receding), the people will only increase in miserliness and greed, the Hour will be established only upon the worst of people, and there is no (perfect) Mahdi except Isa ibn Maryam (peace be upon him)."
This hadith is counted among the solitary narrations of Imam al-Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him), but that is not so, because others besides him have also narrated it.

حدثني أبو أحمد عبد الرحمن بن عبد الله بن يَزْدادَ الرازي المذكِّر ببُخارى من أصل كتابه العتيق، حدثنا أبو محمد عبد الرحمن بن أحمد بن محمد بن الحجاج بن رِشْدِين بن سعد المَهْري بمصر، حدثني أبو سعيد المفضَّل بن محمد الجندي، حدثنا صامت بن معاذ، حدثنا يحيى بن السكن، حدثنا محمد بن خالد الجندي، عن أبان بن صالح، عن الحسن، عن أنس، عن النبي ﷺ قال: "لا يزدادُ الأمرُ إلَّا شدّةً، ولا الناسُ إلّا شُحًّا، ولا تقوم الساعة إلا على شرار الناس، ولا مهديَّ إلّا عيسى ابن مريم (2) " (3). قال صامت بن معاذ: عَدَلتُ إلى الجَنَد مسيرة يومين من صنعاء، فدخلتُ على مُحدِّث لهم فطلبت هذا الحديث، فوجدتُه عنده عن محمد بن خالد الجندي، عن أبان بن أبي عياش عن الحسن، عن النبي ﷺ مثله (1). وقد رُوِيَ بعضُ هذا المتن عن عبد العزيز بن صُهَيب، عن أنس بن مالك، عن رسول الله ﷺ. قال: أما حديث عبد العزيز عن أنس بن مالك:

I went to one of their hadith scholars and asked for this hadith, and I found it with him through the chain of Muhammad bin Khalid al-Jandi, from Aban bin Abi Ayyash, from al-Hasan, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), in the same way.

فحدّثناه الحُسين (2) بن علي التميمي ﵀، حدثنا محمد بن إسحاق الإمام، حدثنا علي بن الحسين الدرهمي، حدثنا مُبَارك أبو سُحَيم، حدثنا عبد العزيز بن صهيب، عن أنس بن مالك، عن النبي ﷺ أنه قال: "لن يزداد الزمانُ إلَّا شدّة، ولا يزداد الناسُ إِلَّا شُحًا، ولا تقومُ الساعةُ إلَّا على شرار الناس" (3). فذكرتُ ما انتهى إليَّ من عِلَّة هذا الحديث تعجُّبًا لا محتجًا به في المستدرك على الشيخين ﵄، فإنّ أولى من هذا الحديث ذكره في هذا الموضع، حديث سفيان الثَّوْري وشُعبة وزائدة وغيرهم من أئمة المسلمين، عن عاصم بن بهدلة، عن زِرِّ بن حُبَيش، عن عبد الله بن مسعود، عن النبي ﷺ أنه قال: "لا تذهب الأيام والليالي حتى يملك رجلٌ من أهل بيتي، يُواطئ اسمه اسمي واسم أبيه اسم أبي، فيملأُ الأرضَ قِسْطًا وعَدْلًا كما ملئت جَوْرًا وظُلمًا" (1).

I have mentioned the hidden defect ('illah) of this hadith that reached me by way of wonder, not as a supplement to the two Shaykhs based on it, because more worthy of mention at this place than this hadith is the hadith of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The days and nights will not come to an end until a man from my household becomes ruler; his name will match my name and his father's name will match my father's name. He will fill the earth with justice and equity just as it had been filled with oppression and tyranny."
