It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Time will only increase in hardship, the people will only increase in miserliness, and the Hour will be established only upon the worst of people."
I have mentioned the hidden defect ('illah) of this hadith that reached me by way of wonder, not as a supplement to the two Shaykhs based on it, because more worthy of mention at this place than this hadith is the hadith of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The days and nights will not come to an end until a man from my household becomes ruler; his name will match my name and his father's name will match my father's name. He will fill the earth with justice and equity just as it had been filled with oppression and tyranny."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: In the manuscripts this name has been corrupted to "al-Hasan", although it appears correctly (al-Husayn) in more than twenty places in this book. This al-Husayn is in fact the hadith master (hafiz) known as "Husaynak".
Grading: Its chain is very weak. Technical note / Defect ('illah): The reason is Mubarak bin Suhaym Abu Suhaym, for he is matruk and munkar al-hadith, and he is alone in narrating it from Abd al-Aziz bin Suhayb. Reference / Source: It was narrated by al-Tabarani in "al-Mu'jam al-Saghir" (485) and by Abu Tahir in "al-Mukhallisiyyat" (2425) and (3120) - and through his route by al-Dhahabi in "al-Siyar" 20/ 400 and by Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali in "Dhayl Tabaqat al-Hanabilah" 2/ 183-184 - via two routes from Mubarak bin Suhaym, with this same chain. See also the preceding narration.
Reference / Source: It was narrated through these routes and others from Asim bin Bahdalah by: Ahmad 6/ (3571-3573), Abu Dawud (4282), al-Tirmidhi (2230) and (2231), and Ibn Hibban (5954), (6824) and (6825). Some of the narrations contain additional wording compared with others. Grading: And Asim (bin Bahdalah) is saduq and hasan al-hadith.
