It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salman al-Farisi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "On the day Allah Almighty created the heavens and the earth, He created one hundred mercies; each mercy is as vast as the space between the earth and the heavens. Allah has distributed one of these mercies among all of creation; because of it a mother is tender towards her child, wild animals and birds drink water, and through it all creatures show mercy to one another. So when the Day of Resurrection comes, Allah Almighty will gather (even this one mercy) back to Himself and make it exclusive to the God-fearing, and He will increase it for them with ninety-odd more mercies."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it with this wording.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty has one hundred mercies. He distributed one mercy among the people of this world, which suffices them until the end of their lives, and He has kept ninety-nine mercies in reserve (in the Hereafter) for His friends (awliya'). And on the Day of Resurrection Allah Almighty will join even that one mercy, which He had distributed among the people of this world, to those ninety-nine, so as to complete one hundred mercies for His friends."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it with this wording.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) that a Bedouin came, made his she-camel kneel and tied it, then prayed behind the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) finished the prayer with the salam, he went to his she-camel, untied its rope, mounted it and called out: "O Allah, have mercy on me and on Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and do not let anyone else share in this mercy of ours." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What do you think, is he more astray or his camel? Did you not hear what he said?" The Companions said: Yes. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He has restricted the vast mercy of Allah. Allah created one hundred mercies, then sent down one mercy because of which all creatures, jinn, humans and animals, show tenderness to one another, while ninety-nine mercies are kept with Allah. (Now tell me,) is he more astray or his camel?"
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
