It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) that a Bedouin came, made his she-camel kneel and tied it, then prayed behind the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) finished the prayer with the salam, he went to his she-camel, untied its rope, mounted it and called out: "O Allah, have mercy on me and on Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and do not let anyone else share in this mercy of ours." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What do you think, is he more astray or his camel? Did you not hear what he said?" The Companions said: Yes. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He has restricted the vast mercy of Allah. Allah created one hundred mercies, then sent down one mercy because of which all creatures, jinn, humans and animals, show tenderness to one another, while ninety-nine mercies are kept with Allah. (Now tell me,) is he more astray or his camel?"
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Note / Clarification: In manuscripts (Z) and (B) the wording is "kabbaha". It may be related to the Arab expression "kabba rahilatahu", meaning "he kept his mount fixed to the road (made it stick to the path)", as is mentioned in Reference / Source: Lisan al-Arab (root: k-b-b).
(188). Grading: Its chain is "layyin" (weak) because Abu Abd Allah, the narrator who narrates from Jundub, is unknown/weak. Reference / Source: Detailed discussion about this narrator has already passed at no. (188).
