أخبرنا إسماعيل بن محمد بن إسماعيل الفقيه بالرَّيِّ، حدثنا أبو حاتم، أخبرنا أحمد بن إسحاق الحضرمي، حدثنا وُهَيب، حدثنا أبو واقد اللَّيثي قال: سمعتُ أبا سَلَمة بن عبد الرحمن يُحدِّث عن عائشةَ قالت: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "استعيذُوا بالله من العَيْنِ، فإنَّ العينَ حقٌّ" (4).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين ولم يُخرجاه بهذه السِّياقة، إنما اتَّفقا على حديث ابن عباس: "العينُ حقٌّ" (5).

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Seek refuge with Allah from the evil eye, for the evil eye is real."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it with this wording; however, both of them agreed on the hadith of Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): "The evil eye is real."
