أخبرني يحيى بن منصور القاضي، حَدَّثَنَا أحمد بن سَلَمة، حَدَّثَنَا إسحاق، أخبرنا المُحارِبي، عن أشعث، عن أبي إسحاق، عن جابر بن سَمُرة قال: رأيتُ رسولَ الله ﷺ في ليلةٍ إضْحِيَانٍ وعليه حُلَّةٌ حمراءُ، فجعلتُ أنظُرُ إليه وإلى القمر، فلهوَ أحسنُ في عيني من القمر (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on a moonlit night, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) was wearing a red hullah (garment). I kept looking at him (peace and blessings be upon him) and then at the moon, and in my eyes he (peace and blessings be upon him) was more beautiful than the moon.

أخبرنا أبو جعفر محمد بن محمد البغدادي، حَدَّثَنَا يحيى بن أيوب العلَّاف بمصر، حَدَّثَنَا سعيد بن أبي مريم، أخبرنا يحيى بن أيوب، حدثني موسى بن جبير، أنَّ عباس بن عبد الله بن عباس بن عبد المطّلب حدّثه عن خالد بن يزيد بن معاوية، عن دِحْية بن خَليفة الكَلْبي: أَنَّ رسول الله ﷺ حين بَعَثَه إلى هِرَقْل، فلما رجع أعطاه رسولُ الله ﷺ قُبْطيةً، فقال: "اجعَلْ صَدِيعَها قميصًا، وأَعطِ صاحبتَكَ صَدِيعًا تَختمِرُ (2) به"، فلمَّا وَلَّى قال: "مُرْها تَجعَلْ تحتَها شيئًا لئلّا يَصِفَ" (3).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Dihyah bin Khalifah al-Kalbi (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent him to Heraclius and he returned, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) gave him a qubtiyyah (a fine Egyptian cloth) and said: "Make a shirt from one piece of it, and give the other piece to your wife so that she may make it her head-covering (khimar)." When he turned away, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Tell her to put something else beneath it so that her body does not show through."

حَدَّثَنَا أبو العباس محمد بن يعقوب، أخبرنا محمد بن عبد الله بن عبد الحَكَم، أخبرنا ابن وهب، أخبرني يونس بن يزيد، عن نافع، عن عبد الله بن عمر، عن عمر بن الخطّاب: أنه كان يَستحيكُ (1) الرسول الله ﷺ ولأصحابه الحُلَلَ بألفِ درهمٍ وبألفٍ ومئتي درهمٍ (2).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) that he used to have costly garments made for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and his (peace and blessings be upon him) Companions, for one thousand and for twelve hundred dirhams.

حَدَّثَنَا علي بن حَمْشاذ العدل، حَدَّثَنَا موسى بن هارون، حَدَّثَنَا القاسم بن دِينار الطحَّان، حَدَّثَنَا إسحاق بن منصور السَّلُولي، عن عُمارة بن زاذان، عن ثابت، عن أنس بن مالك: أنَّ مَلِكَ ذي يَزَنٍ أَهدَى للنبيِّ ﷺ حُلَّةً اشتُرِيَتْ بثلاثةٍ وثلاثين بعيرًا وناقةً، فَلَبِسَها النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَرَّةً (1).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the king of Dhu Yazan gifted the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) a hullah (garment) that had been bought for thirty-three camels and a she-camel, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wore it once.
