Habibah bint Abi Tajra'ah (may Allah be pleased with her)

It is narrated from Sayyidah Habibah bint Abi Tajrah (may Allah be pleased with her) that in the days of Jahiliyyah we had an upper room (suffah). I looked out from a small window between al-Safa and al-Marwah and saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) was performing sa'y and saying to his Companions: "Perform sa'y, for Allah Almighty has made sa'y obligatory upon you." She says: I saw him (peace and blessings be upon him) performing sa'y so vigorously that the waist-wrap was swirling around his (peace and blessings be upon him) stomach, until I saw the whiteness of both his (peace and blessings be upon him) armpits and thighs.

It is narrated from Sayyidah Habibah bint Abi Tajrah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: I entered the house of Abu Husayn with some women of Quraysh while the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was going around (performing sa'i) between Safa and Marwah. Because of the intensity of the sa'i, his lower garment (peace and blessings be upon him) was swirling around his body (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) was saying to his Companions: "Perform sa'i, for Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has prescribed sa'i for you."
