It is narrated from Sayyidah Barrah bint Abi Tajrah (may Allah be pleased with her) that when Allah Almighty willed to honour the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and to begin bestowing Prophethood upon him (peace and blessings be upon him), whenever he (peace and blessings be upon him) went out to relieve himself he would go so far that no house could be seen, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) would reach the ravines and the depths of the valleys. Every stone or tree he (peace and blessings be upon him) passed would say: 'As-salamu alayka ya Rasulallah' (Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah). He (peace and blessings be upon him) would turn to look to his right, his left and behind him, but would see no one (no human).
Mention of Habibah bint Abi Tajrah (may Allah be pleased with her).

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: The speaker (in the Arabic text) is Muhammad bin Umar al-Waqidi.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In the manuscripts this was distorted here into "abihi" (his father); the correct form is clear from the sources of the takhrij.
Grading: Its chain is da'if (weak). Technical note / Defect ('illah): We could not find a biography for the narrator Ali bin Muhammad bin Ubaydullah. Mansur bin Abd al-Rahman is "Ibn Talhah al-Abdari", and his mother is Safiyyah bint Shaybah. Al-Dhahabi declared it weak in "al-Talkhis". 2/ 295. Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ibn Sa'd in "al-Tabaqat" (1/ 132, 10/ 234), and by way of him al-Tabari in his "Tarikh" 2/ 295. Reference / Source: It was narrated by al-Fakihi in "Akhbar Makkah" (2902) from Abdullah bin Shabib al-Rab'i, from Ibn Abi Uways, from Muslim bin Khalid, from Dawud bin Abd al-Rahman, from Mansur bin Abd al-Rahman al-Hajabi. Grading: This chain is extremely weak (wahin) because of Abdullah bin Shabib; it cannot be relied upon. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: On this topic there is a marfu' narration of Jabir bin Samurah in Sahih Muslim (2277) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I know a stone in Makkah that used to greet me with salam before I was sent (as a prophet); I know it even now." Reference / Source: From Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) this narration has already appeared under number (4284); however, its chain is very weak.
