The stipends given to the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)

It is narrated from Mus'ab bin Sa'd that Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) fixed a stipend of ten thousand (dirhams) for each of the Mothers of the Believers, and gave Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) an increase of two thousand (more), saying: She is the beloved of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) that the stipend of the people of Badr was six thousand each, and the stipend of the Mothers of the Believers was ten thousand each, except for three women: (first) Sayyidah Aishah, for Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I will give her two thousand more because of the love of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) for her; and (the other two) Sayyidah Safiyyah and Sayyidah Juwayriyah, whose stipend was seven thousand each.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it because Mutarrif bin Tarif narrated it in mursal form.
