Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: (2) This text is established from manuscript (B), whereas in the other manuscripts it is "qalat".
Note / Clarification: (3) In the handwritten manuscripts the word "khayran" is distorted into "Jibril".
Grading: (4) Its chain is da'if (weak) because of "Mujalid bin Sa'id".
Technical note / Defect ('illah): There has been disagreement over him (Mujalid): sometimes he narrates it from al-Sha'bi from Masruq (as here), and sometimes from al-Sha'bi from Abu Salamah, which agrees with the narration of Zakariyya bin Abi Za'idah from al-Sha'bi. Moreover, Mujalid combined two hadiths in his narration: 1. Jibril coming (to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)) in the form of Dihyah al-Kalbi and commanding him to set out against Banu Qurayzah; 2. the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) conveying Jibril's greeting of peace to A'ishah. Yet in the narration of A'ishah seeing Jibril in the form of Dihyah it is not preserved that Jibril gave the greeting of peace. This story has already passed with the author (al-Hakim) at number (4379) through the route of al-Qasim bin Muhammad from A'ishah. As for Jibril conveying the greeting of peace to A'ishah, that is a separate incident in which she did not see Jibril, but rather heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) speaking privately with him, as in the narrations whose takhrij follows.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Abu al-Muwajjih: he is Muhammad bin Amr al-Fazari; and Abu Ammar: he is al-Husayn bin Hurayth al-Marwazi.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ibn Sa'd in "al-Tabaqat" 10/ 67 from Muhammad bin Yazid al-Wasiti, with this same chain.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Muhammad al-Wasiti was corroborated by Abd al-Rahim bin Sulayman, as with Ibn Abi Shaybah 12/ 130-131, Ibn Abi Asim in "al-Ahad wa al-Mathani" (3013), and al-Tabarani in "al-Kabir" 23/ (95), and by Abu Bakr bin Ayyash, as with al-Dinawari in "al-Mujalasah" (298). Both of them narrated it from Mujalid, from al-Sha'bi, from Masruq, in the same way.

Technical note / Defect ('illah): They were contradicted by Sufyan bin Uyaynah (as with al-Humaydi (277), Ahmad 41/ (24462) and 42/ (25131), al-Tabarani 23/ (90), al-Ajurri in "al-Shari'ah" (987) and (1893), Abu Tahir al-Mukhallis in "al-Mukhallisiyyat" (2606), Abu Nu'aym in "al-Hilyah" 2/ 46, and al-Khatib in his "Tarikh" 7/ 140): he narrated it from Mujalid, from al-Sha'bi, from Abu Salamah, from A'ishah. And Sufyan bin Uyaynah explained "al-dakhil" as "guest".

Technical note / Defect ('illah): With al-Bukhari and others, al-Sha'bi explicitly stated that he heard it from Abu Salamah.
