Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 6873

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) that the stipend of the people of Badr was six thousand each, and the stipend of the Mothers of the Believers was ten thousand each, except for three women: (first) Sayyidah Aishah, for Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I will give her two thousand more because of the love of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) for her; and (the other two) Sayyidah Safiyyah and Sayyidah Juwayriyah, whose stipend was seven thousand each.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it because Mutarrif bin Tarif narrated it in mursal form.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: (1) In the handwritten manuscripts this name is distorted into "Sufyan".

Grading: (2) Its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy), but there has been disagreement over Abu Ishaq as to whether it is connected or mursal, and its being mursal is more correct and more frequent.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by al-Dawraqi in "Musnad Sa'd" (68) from Ubaydullah bin Musa, with this same chain.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ibn Zanjawayh in "al-Amwal" (876) and (803) from Ubaydullah bin Musa, from Isra'il, from Abu Ishaq, from Mus'ab bin Sa'd, as mursal, like the previous hadith with the author (al-Hakim); his father Sa'd is not mentioned in it.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Likewise it was narrated by Sufyan al-Thawri (with Ibn Abi Shaybah 12/ 302 and al-Baladhuri in "Ansab al-Ashraf") and by Abu Khaythamah Zuhayr bin Mu'awiyah (with Abu Ubayd al-Qasim bin Sallam in "al-Amwal" (554), Ibn Sa'd 3/ 283, and Ibn al-Mundhir in "al-Awsat" (6366)), both from Abu Ishaq al-Sabi'i, from Mus'ab, as mursal. In their versions the stipend of Safiyyah and Juwayriyah is mentioned as six thousand instead of seven thousand.
