Virtues of Abdullah bin Jahsh al-Asadi (may Allah be pleased with him)

It is narrated from Ibn Ishaq that Abdullah bin Jahsh bin Ri'ab bin Ya'mar bin Sabirah bin Kabir bin Ghanm bin Dudan bin Asad bin Khuzaymah (is his lineage), and his mother Umaymah bint Abd al-Muttalib was the paternal aunt of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).

It is narrated from Mus'ab bin Abdullah al-Zubayri that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Jahsh (may Allah be pleased with him) took part in the Battle of Badr with the Muslims, and he was an ally of Banu Umayyah bin Abd Shams.

It is narrated from Urwah that among the names of those from Banu Umayyah who were martyred with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on the day of Uhud is also the name of Abdullah bin Jahsh, who was their ally and belonged to Banu Asad bin Khuzaymah.
