The virtues of Salamah bin Salamah bin Waqsh al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him)

It is narrated from Ibn Ishaq concerning the lineage of Sayyiduna Salamah bin Salamah bin Waqsh (may Allah be pleased with him) that he is Salamah bin Salamah bin Waqsh bin Zughbah bin Za'ura bin Abd al-Ashhal bin Jumah bin Jusham bin al-Harith bin al-Khazraj bin Amr bin Malik bin Aws.

It is narrated from Urwah, in the mention of those of the Ansar, then of the Aws, then of Banu Abd al-Ashhal, who took part in the pledge of al-Aqabah, that Sayyiduna Salamah bin Waqsh (may Allah be pleased with him) took part in the battle of Badr.

It is narrated from Muhammad bin Umar that the kunyah of Sayyiduna Salamah bin Salamah bin Waqsh (may Allah be pleased with him) was "Abu Awf". According to the statement of all the historians, he took part in the first pledge of al-Aqabah and the second pledge of al-Aqabah along with the seventy Companions, and they all agree that Sayyiduna Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) took part in the battles of Badr, Uhud and the Trench and in all the battles with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He died in the year 45 AH at the age of seventy and was buried in Madinah.

It is narrated from Shabab bin Khayyat that Abu Awf, Sayyiduna Salamah bin Salamah bin Waqsh (may Allah be pleased with him), died in the year 45 AH and was laid to rest in Madinah.
