لَمْ يَكُنْ فِي وَلَدِ عَلِيٍّ أَشْبَهُ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ مِنَ الْحَسَنِ .

حدثنا أبو الحسن علي بن محمد الشَّيباني بالكوفة، حدثنا إبراهيم بن إسحاق الزُّهري، حدثنا جعفر بن عَوْن، حدثنا يونس بن أبي إسحاق، عن أبيه، عن هانئ بن هانئ، عن عليّ، قال: لما أن وُلِدَ الحسنُ سمّيتُه حَرْبًا، فقال لي النبي ﷺ: "ما سمَّيتَ ابني؟ " قلت: حَرْبًا، قال: "هو الحَسن"، فلما وُلِد الحُسين سمّيتُه حَرْبًا، فقال النبي ﷺ: "ما سميت ابني؟ " قلت: حَرْبًا، قال: "هو الحُسين"، فلما أن وُلِد مُحسِّن قال: "ما سمَّيتَ ابني؟ " قلت: حَرْبًا، قال: "هو مُحسن"، ثم قال النبي ﷺ: "إني سميتُ بَني هؤلاء بتسمية هارون بنيهِ شَبَّرًا وشَبِيرًا ومُشَبِّرًا" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يخرجاه. [ومن فضائل الحسن بن علي بن أبي طالب ﵁ وذكر مولده ومقتله]

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that when Hasan was born I named him "Harb." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked me: "What have you named my son?" I said: Harb. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "(No,) he is Hasan." Then when Husayn was born I named him "Harb." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What have you named my son?" I said: Harb. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "(No,) he is Husayn." Then when Muhassin was born, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What have you named my son?" I said: Harb. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He is Muhassin." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have named these sons of mine after the names of the sons of Harun (peace be upon him): Shabbar, Shabir and Mushabbir."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Hadith 4840

أخبرنا أبو الحُسين محمد بن أحمد القَنْطَري ببغداد، حدثنا أبو قلابة، حدثنا أبو عاصم، حدثني عُمر بن سعيد بن أبي حسين، عن ابن أبي مُليكة، عن عُقبة بن الحارث: أنَّ أبا بكر الصِّدِّيق لَقِيَ الحسن بن علي فضمه إليه، وقال: بأبي شبيهٌ بالنبي ...... ليسَ شَبيهٌ (2) بعَلِي وعليٌّ يضحك (3).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين (4).

It is narrated from Uqbah bin al-Harith that Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) met Sayyiduna Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both), hugged him to his chest and said: "May my father be ransomed for you! He resembles the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), not Ali." And Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was smiling (on hearing this).
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim).

Hadith 4841

حدثنا أبو العباس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا الخضر بن أبان الهاشمي، حدثنا أزهرُ بن سعد السَّمّان، حدثنا ابن عَون، عن محمد، عن أبي هريرة، قال (5): لقي الحسن بن عليّ، فقال: رأيتُ رسول الله ﷺ قَبل بطنك، فاكشِف الموضعَ الذي قبل رسول الله ﷺ حتى أُقبله، قال: فكشف له الحَسنُ فقبَّلَه (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he met Sayyiduna Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) and said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) kiss your blessed stomach, so uncover the spot that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) kissed so that I may kiss it too. The narrator said: So Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) uncovered that spot (drawing the cloth back from his stomach), and he kissed it.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Hadith 4842

أخبرنا أحمد بن جعفر القَطيعي، حدثنا عبد الله بن أحمد بن حنبل، حدثني أبي، حدثنا وكيع، عن إسماعيل بن أبي خالد، قال: سمعت وَهْبًا أبا جُحيفة يقول: رأيتُ رسول الله ﷺ وكان الحَسنُ بن عليٍّ يُشبهه (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يخرجاه! وله شاهدٌ صحيحٌ:

It is narrated from Wahb Abu Juhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) resembled him (peace and blessings be upon him).
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it! And it has an authentic corroborating report (shahid):
