The dream of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) concerning the virtue of Umar (may Allah be pleased with him)

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I saw in a dream that I was given a bowl full of milk. I drank from it until I was filled, so much so that I saw its moisture in the veins between my skin and flesh; then what remained I gave to Umar bin al-Khattab." The Companions said: O Prophet of Allah, this is the knowledge that Allah has given you, and you were filled with it; then what remained you gave to Umar bin al-Khattab. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You have understood correctly."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that if the knowledge of Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) were placed in one pan of a scale and the knowledge of all people in the other pan, the pan of Umar's knowledge would be heavier.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that indeed Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was the most God-fearing of us towards his Lord and the best reciter (and most learned) of us in the Book of Allah (the Qur'an).
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

It is narrated from the Mother of the Believers, Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Among the earlier nations there used to be people who were spoken to (from the unseen) (that is, they received inspiration); so if there is anyone like that in my Ummah, it is Umar bin al-Khattab."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
