It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: "Blessed is He whose hearing encompasses all things. I was hearing the words of Khawlah bint Tha'labah while she was complaining about her husband to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and some of her words were hidden from me. She was saying: O Messenger of Allah, he consumed my youth, and I spread out my womb for him (that is, I bore him many children), until, when I grew old and my bearing of children came to an end, he pronounced zihar on me. O Allah, to You alone I present my plea and complaint." Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: She had not even moved from her place when Jibril (peace be upon him) came down with these verses: "Allah has certainly heard the words of the woman who disputes with you concerning her husband" [Surah al-Mujadilah: 1]. And her husband was Aws bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him).
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs did not record it. It has also been narrated in brief through Hisham bin Urwah, from his father, from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her).

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that Jamilah was the wife of Aws bin al-Samit, and Aws was a man who suffered from some mental disturbance (fits). When this condition became severe, he would pronounce zihar on his wife. So Allah Almighty revealed concerning him the expiation for zihar.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.
