أخبرني علي بن محمد بن عُقْبة الشَّيباني بالكوفة، حدثنا الهيثم بن خالد، حدثنا أبو نُعيم، حدثنا الحسن بن صالح، عن عبد الله بن محمد بن عَقِيل، عن جابر بن عبد الله قال: الصِّراطُ المستقيمُ هو الإسلام، وهو أوسعُ ما بين السماءِ والأرض (3).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that "the straight path" [Surah al-Fatihah: 6] means Islam, and it is a path more vast than everything between the heavens and the earth.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs (Imam Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Hadith 3062

حدثني علي بن حَمْشاذَ العَدْل، حدثنا الحارث بن أبي أسامة، حدثنا أبو النَّضْر، حدثنا حمزة بن المغيرة، عن عاصم، عن أبي العاليَةِ، عن ابن عبَّاس في قوله تعالى: ﴿الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ﴾ قال: هو رسولُ الله ﷺ وصاحباه. قال: فذكَرنا ذلك للحسن، فقال: صَدَقَ والله ونَصَحَ هو رسول الله ﷺ وأبو بكر وعمر ﵄ (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه. ﷽ [2 - من سورة البقرة]

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the saying of Allah Almighty: "The straight path" [Surah al-Fatihah: 6], that he said: "It refers to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and his two companions (Sayyiduna Abu Bakr and Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both)." The narrator said: We mentioned this to Imam al-Hasan al-Basri, and he said: "By Allah! He spoke the truth and gave sincere counsel. Indeed, it refers to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and Abu Bakr and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both)."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs (Imam Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it. [Surah al-Baqarah]
