أخبرني أبو الحسين محمد بن أحمد بن تَميم القَنْطري ببغداد، حدثنا أبو قِلابة، حدثنا أبو عاصم، حدثنا عبد الله بن المؤمَّل، عن ابن أبي مُلَيكة: أنَّ أبا الجَوزاء أتى ابنَ عباس، فقال: أتعلَمُ أنَّ ثلاثًا كُنّ يُردَدْن على عهد رسول الله ﷺ إلى واحدةٍ؟ قال: نعم (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Abu al-Jawza' that he came to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) and asked: "Do you know that in the blessed time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), three divorces (pronounced together) used to be counted as one and returned (for the possibility of taking back)?" He said: "Yes."
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

أخبرنا أبو زكريا يحيى بن محمد العَنْبري، حدثنا محمد بن عبد السلام، حدثنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم، أخبرنا عبد الرزاق، أخبرنا مَعمَر، أخبرني ابن طاووس، عن أبيه، عن ابن عباس، قال: كان الطلاقُ على عهدِ رسول الله ﷺ وأبي بكر وسنتين من خلافة عُمر طلاقُ الثلاثِ واحدةً، فقال عُمر: إن الناس قد استعجَلُوا في أمرٍ كانت لهم فيه أَناة، فلو أمضَيناهُ عليهم؛ فأمضَاهُ عليهم (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: In the blessed time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), in the time of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), and in the first two years of the caliphate of Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), three divorces (pronounced together) were counted as one. Then Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "People have begun to hasten in a matter in which they had been given time to reflect, so if we were to enforce it upon them (that would be better)." Then he enforced it upon them.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.
