It is narrated from Sayyiduna Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever recites the Qur'an, learns it and acts upon it will be made to wear a crown of light on the Day of Resurrection, whose radiance will be like the radiance of the sun; and his parents will be clothed in two garments (hullahs) to which nothing in the world can compare. They will ask: 'For what have we been given these to wear?' It will be said: 'Because your child took up the Qur'an.'"
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ma'qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Act upon the Qur'an; regard what it makes lawful as lawful and what it makes unlawful as unlawful; follow it and do not disbelieve in anything of it. Whatever of it becomes unclear to you, refer it back to Allah and to those in authority after me, so that they may inform you of its reality. Believe in the Torah, the Injil, the Zabur and all that the prophets were given by their Lord. Let the Qur'an and its explanation suffice you, for it is an intercessor whose intercession is accepted, and a truthful disputant (advocate) whose word is confirmed. Behold! Every verse will have a light on the Day of Resurrection. I was given Surah al-Baqarah from the First Remembrance (the Preserved Tablet), and I was given Ta Ha, the Tawasin and the Hawamim from the Tablets of Musa (peace be upon him), and I was given the Opening of the Book (al-Fatihah) from beneath the Throne."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
