It is narrated from Sayyiduna Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever recites the Qur'an, learns it and acts upon it will be made to wear a crown of light on the Day of Resurrection, whose radiance will be like the radiance of the sun; and his parents will be clothed in two garments (hullahs) to which nothing in the world can compare. They will ask: 'For what have we been given these to wear?' It will be said: 'Because your child took up the Qur'an.'"
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: The manuscripts differ in the arrangement of the case endings, but the common narration is well known with the wording "yuksa walidahu hullatayn" (his parents will be clothed in two garments).
(3478). Grading: Because of Bashir bin Muhajir, this chain is "hasan" in corroborating chains and supporting reports. Al-Baghawi, Ibn Kathir and Ibn Hajar graded it hasan. Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad narrated it through the chain of Abu Nu'aym al-Fadl bin Dukayn from Bashir bin Muhajir. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: As a supporting report there is the narration of Abd al-Razzaq, which al-Tabarani transmitted with a connected chain from Abu Hurayrah as marfu'. Criticism of a narrator: Sharik and Yahya al-Himmani: when either of them contradicts trustworthy narrators, his narration is not accepted. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: The hadith of Abu Umamah with al-Tabarani is also a supporting report; in it Suwayd bin Abd al-Aziz is weak, but his narration can be taken into consideration. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Concerning the crowning of the companion of the Qur'an, the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (no. 52) has already passed, and it is hasan. (5962). Grading: It is also narrated through the chain of Amr bin Shu'ayb from his father from his grandfather, which Ibn Hajar and al-Busiri graded hasan.
