أخبرنا أبو محمد عبد الرحمن بن حَمْدان الجَلَّاب بهَمَذان، حدثنا أبو الوليد محمد بن أحمد بن بُرْدٍ الأنطاكي، حدثنا الهَيثَم بن جَمِيل، حدثنا مُبارَك بن فَضَالة، عن الحسن، عن أنس قال: كبَّرتِ الملائكةُ على آدمَ أربعًا، وكبَّر أبو بكرٍ على النبيِّ ﷺ أربعًا، وكبَّر عمرُ على أبي بكرٍ أربعًا، وكبَّر صُهيبٌ على عمرَ أربعًا، وكبَّر الحسنُ بن عليٍّ على عليٍّ أربعًا، وكبَّر الحسينُ على الحسنِ أربعًا (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه، والمُبارَك بن فَضَالة من الزُّهد والعلم بحيثُ لا يُجرَح مثلُه، إلّا أنَّ الشيخين لم يخرجاه لِسوءِ حفظِه. ولهذا الحديث شاهد:
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه، والمُبارَك بن فَضَالة من الزُّهد والعلم بحيثُ لا يُجرَح مثلُه، إلّا أنَّ الشيخين لم يخرجاه لِسوءِ حفظِه. ولهذا الحديث شاهد:
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) states that the angels said four takbirs over the funeral of Adam (peace be upon him); Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said four takbirs over the funeral of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said four takbirs over the funeral of Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him); Sayyiduna Suhayb (may Allah be pleased with him) said four takbirs over the funeral of Umar (may Allah be pleased with him); Sayyiduna al-Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) said four takbirs over the funeral of Ali (may Allah be pleased with him); and Sayyiduna al-Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) said four takbirs over the funeral of al-Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him).
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), but the two Shaykhs did not record it. Mubarak bin Fadalah is of such a rank in asceticism and knowledge that a narrator like him is not criticised; however, the two Shaykhs did not take his narrations because of the weakness of his memory. There is a supporting hadith (shahid) for this hadith, as follows:

أخبرَناه أبو أحمد بكر بن محمد الصَّيرَفي بمَرْو، حدثنا جعفر بن محمد بن شاكر، حدثنا خُنَيس بن بكر بن خُنَيس، حدثنا الفُرات بن السائب الجَزَري، عن مَيمُون بن مِهْران، عن عبد الله بن عباسٍ قال: آخرُ ما كبَّر رسولُ الله ﷺ على الجنائزِ أربعًا، وكبَّر عمرُ على أبي بكرٍ أربعًا، وكبَّر عبدُ الله بن عمر على عمر أربعًا، وكبَّر الحسنُ بن عليٍّ على عليٍّ أربعًا، وكبَّر الحسينُ بن عليٍّ على الحسنِ أربعًا، وكبَّرتِ الملائكةُ على آدمَ أربعًا (1). لستُ ممن يَخفَى عليه أنَّ الفُرات بن السائب ليس من شَرْط هذا الكتاب، وإنما أخرجتُه شاهدًا.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) states that the takbirs which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said over a funeral the last time were four; Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said four takbirs over Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him); Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said four takbirs over Umar (may Allah be pleased with him); Sayyiduna al-Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) said four takbirs over Ali (may Allah be pleased with him); Sayyiduna al-Husayn bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) said four takbirs over al-Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him); and the angels said four takbirs over Adam (peace be upon him).
It is not hidden from me that al-Furat bin al-Sa'ib does not meet the condition of this book; I have presented it only as a supporting narration (shahid).
