وحدثنا أبو بكر بن إسحاق الفقيه أخبرنا إسماعيل بن قُتَيبة، حدثنا يحيى بن يحيى، أخبرنا هُشَيم، أخبرنا عُيَينة بن عبد الرحمن، عن أبيه، عن أبي بَكْرة قال: لقد رأيتُنا مع رسول الله ﷺ وإنَّا لَنَكادُ أن نَرْمُلَ بالجِنازةِ رَمَلًا (1).

Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I saw us with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and we would walk with the funeral bier (quickly) in a manner that was almost running.
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), but the two Shaykhs did not record it, while a supporting narration (shahid) for it is reported with an authentic chain from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Ja'far al-Tayyar (may Allah be pleased with him):

حدَّثَناه أبو العباس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا الرَّبيع بن سليمان، حدثنا عبد الله بن وَهْب، أخبرني ابن أبي الزِّناد، عن أبيه قال: كنتُ جالسًا مع عبد الله بن جعفر بن أبي طالب بالبَقِيع، فأُطلِعَ علينا بجِنازة، فأقبلَ علينا ابن جعفر، فتعجَّبَ من إبطاء مَشْيِهم بها، فقال: عَجَبًا لما تغيَّر من حال الناس، والله إن كان إِلَّا الجَمْز، وإن كان الرجلُ ليُلاحِي الرجل فيقول: يا عبدَ الله اتق الله، لكأنه قد جُمِزَ بك، متعجبًا لإبطاء مَشْيِهم" (1).
Ibn Abi al-Zinad narrates from his father: I was sitting with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Ja'far bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with them both) at al-Baqi' when a funeral passed before us. Ibn Ja'far turned towards us and expressed surprise at how slowly the people were walking with the bier, and he said: "How astonishing is the change in people's condition! By Allah, (in the time of the Prophet) the bier was carried only at a brisk pace (jamz), so much so that a man arguing with another would say: 'O servant of Allah, fear Allah! It is as if you are being rushed along on a bier.' He was expressing surprise at how slowly they walked."
