It is narrated from Sayyiduna Kurz bin Alqamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a Bedouin asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): "O Messenger of Allah! Does Islam have an end?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes. Any household of the Arabs or non-Arabs for whom Allah intends good, He brings Islam into it. Then (after that) trials will occur like the shadows of clouds."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) and there is no hidden defect ('illah) in it. The two Shaykhs did not take it only because Urwah is the sole narrator from Kurz bin Alqamah, although Kurz is a Companion and his hadith is found in the Musnads of the imams. I heard Ali bin Umar al-Hafiz (Imam al-Daraqutni) say that this hadith was binding upon Bukhari and Muslim (to record), because both of them agreed on the hadith of Itban bin Malik, who has no narrator other than Mahmud bin al-Rabi'.

Hadith Takhrij«
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is sahih. Technical note / Defect ('illah): The narrators are as follows: Abu al-Muwajjih is "Muhammad bin Amr al-Fazari", Abdan is "Abd Allah bin Uthman al-Marwazi", and Abd Allah is "Abd Allah bin al-Mubarak". Important point: This same narration will come at number (8609) by way of Abd al-Razzaq, from Ma'mar, in more detail. Note / Clarification: See also the narration before it.
1/ 43. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Here the author (Imam al-Hakim) made a mistake in attributing this position to the two Shaykhs (al-Bukhari and Muslim). In some of his books, such as "al-Madkhal", he laid down the rule that the two Shaykhs only take the narration of a Companion from whom two or more trustworthy narrators have narrated, whereas this contradicts Imam al-Hakim's own statement after hadith number 61 in al-Mustadrak that the two Shaykhs also take the narration of a Companion from whom only one narrator has narrated. Important point: Al-Hafiz al-Sakhawi pointed out this contradiction of Imam al-Hakim in "Fath al-Mughith" (1/43). 1/ 258 - 266. General principle: Several imams refuted this claim of Imam al-Hakim, among them Abu al-Fadl Muhammad bin Tahir al-Maqdisi and Abu Bakr al-Hazimi. In their books on the conditions of the imams they cited several hadiths of the two Sahihs in which only one Successor narrates from the Companion and no one else narrates from him. (33). Reference / Source: Imam al-Bukhari narrated it at (424) and Imam Muslim at (33).
