Umayyah bin Abdullah bin Khalid narrates that he said to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): We find the prayer of the resident and the prayer of fear mentioned in the Qur'an, but we do not find the prayer of the traveller (that it is to be shortened)? Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar said: O my nephew, Allah sent Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to us when we knew nothing; we only do what we saw Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) doing.
All of its narrators are from Madinah and trustworthy, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.
