It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hisham bin Amir al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The hair of the Dajjal's head will be layer upon layer (curly) from behind, and he will soon claim: I am your Lord. So whoever says, 'You are my Lord,' has fallen into tribulation; and whoever says, 'You have lied; my Lord is Allah, in Him I have put my trust and to Him I turn,' will not be harmed by him," or he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "no tribulation will affect him."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Hadith Takhrij«
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: This hadith is sahih (in terms of its text), but this chain is weak because of a break (inqita'), if Ma'mar preserved it correctly. Technical note: Abu Qilabah (whose name is 'Abd Allah bin Zayd al-Jarmi) did not hear from Hisham bin 'Amir; however, Ma'mar was contradicted in it, as will come next. Reference: It is narrated in Musnad Ahmad (26/16260) from 'Abd al-Razzaq with this same chain. Supporting reports and analysis: Hammad bin Zayd narrated it in Musnad Ahmad (38/23159), and Isma'il bin 'Ulayyah also in Ahmad (23487); both of them narrated it from Ayyub al-Sakhtiyani, from Abu Qilabah, from a Companion of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) (whose name was not given). Important point: In the narration of Hammad bin Zayd, Abu Qilabah stated explicitly that he heard this hadith from that Companion, so by this the hadith becomes sahih. And Allah the Exalted knows best. Linguistic note: "Al-hubuk" originally means paths. According to Ibn al-Athir's "al-Nihayah", what is meant here is that the hair at the back of the head is wavy because of its curliness, like still water or sand when the winds blow over them, forming ripples and paths.
