It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Zayd al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) led us in the Fajr prayer, then he (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed us until Zuhr. Then he came down from the pulpit and led the Zuhr prayer. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed us until Asr, then came down and led the Asr prayer. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) ascended the pulpit again and addressed us until Maghrib. During this he (peace and blessings be upon him) informed us of all the events and happenings that are to take place (until the Day of Resurrection). So the most knowledgeable among us is the one among us with the best memory.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Grading: Its chain is sahih. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Identification of the narrators: "Abu 'Asim al-Nabil" refers to al-Dahhak bin Makhlad, and the name of "Abu Zayd al-Ansari" is 'Amr bin Akhtab. Reference / Source: Ahmad (37/22888), Muslim (2892) and Ibn Hibban (6638) narrated it by way of Abu 'Asim with this same chain. Technical note / Defect ('illah): So Imam al-Hakim's treating it as an addition is an oversight on his part.
