أخبرناه أبو عبد الله الصنعاني، حدثنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم، أخبرنا عبد الرزاق، أخبرنا مَعمَر، عن أيوب، عن ابن سيرين، عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي بَكْرة قال: قال عبد الله بن عمرو بن العاص: أوشك بنو قَنطورَ [أن] يُخرِجوكم من أرض العراق، قال قلت ثم نعودُ؟ قال: وذاك أحبُّ إليك؟ ثم تعودون ويكون لكم بها سَلوةٌ من عَيش (1). هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه. وبنو قَنطُوراء: هم التُّرك.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: "Soon Banu Qanturah (the Turks) will expel you from the land of Iraq." I said: Will we then return? He said: "Is that what you want? Then you will return, and you will have ease of life there."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it; and by Banu Qanturah is meant the Turks.

(1) إسناده صحيح. إسحاق بن إبراهيم: هو الدَّبَري، وأيوب هو السَّختياني. والخبر في "جامع معمر" برقم (20799). Grading: Its chain is "sahih". Technical note / Defect ('illah): Ishaq bin Ibrahim refers to "al-Dabari", and Ayyub refers to "al-Sakhtiyani". Reference / Source: This report is found in Ma'mar's "al-Jami'" under number (20799). وأخرجه نعيم بن حماد في "الفتن" (1911) عن إسماعيل ابن عُليَّة، عن أيوب، بهذا الإسناد. Reference / Source: Nu'aym bin Hammad narrated it in "al-Fitan" (1911) from Isma'il Ibn 'Ulayyah, from Ayyub, with this same chain. وأخرجه ابن أبي شيبة 15/ 107 من طريق هشام بن حسّان، عن محمد بن سيرين، به. Reference / Source: See what has already passed under number (8627). قوله: "سلوة من عيش" قال ابن الأثير في "النهاية": أي: نعمة ورفاهية ورَغَدٌ يُسليكم عن الهمّ. Note / Clarification: Regarding the phrase "سلوة من عيش", Ibn al-Athir says in "al-Nihayah": that is, a blessing, prosperity and ample provision that consoles you and frees you from grief.
